...it's part of the Forbidden Knowledge quest. It is the smallish cave with a dragon and an evil tome in it in the wounded coast. Is there any way to get into it? It's to the left of where you enter the cave. It's visible from the map - I wouldn't think this was anything special but this cave appears to not be reused and is actually unique.
So, there's a small, enclosed area in the "Dank Cave" in Act 2...

You can't get into it. I think the bit you see on the map is used in a different quest that uses the same area, but it is entirely separated from where you walk in the Forbidden Knowledge quest.

Yea, that cave is the same cave you go into all the time. All of it shows on the map every time, but you can't always get into every area.

I know, I know - Necro. I found this post trying to figure out how to get into the other part of the cave. Half an hour later I found that you get to it through The Bone Pit. It's called the "Rotting Cave" and contains an Evil Tome.
