I tend to believe the Sloth demon in the Broken Cirlcle quest built the dream world for you and your companions because he wanted you to be happy. Look at people like Alistair and Wynne those two clearly had alot of pain that they weren't showing but when we saw what he gave them (Alistair got a family and Wynne got her dead apprentices back) they were happy. The slot didn't have to give them a happy dream if he didn't want. I think he was doing what he thought was a favor just like the Desire demon and the Templar.

They both see themselves as helping the people that the are feeding on.

Pointless, paper-thin excuses... demons of all kinds are extremely dangerous. At the very least, they seek to inhabit the bodies of mortals and subvert their free will. That's evil enough, regardless of how they go about it.

This argument is ignoring facts and trying to paint these monsters in a sympathetic light. Not buying it.

About as dangerous as a human being I'd say.

It only requires a touch from a single human to whipe out millions of lives in the blink of an eye. Demons are chumps in comparison.

@wulfstorm: What are you talking about? Magic or nukes? xD Either way, let's put it this way: Dragons are very dangerous. That doesn't make lions any less dangerous. I mean hell, of course humans are dangerous... why does that matter when talking about demons? There is no need to compare them.

I just don't see any reason to excuse the behavior of demons... they are hostile creatures who tend to either attack, trick, or mentally dominate mortals. What's to like? I take demonic bargains all the time in these games, but I don't kid myself about the risks... You think that the demon who can potentially possess Connor Eamon has benign intentions? Sure didn't seem that way in Redcliffe Castle, what with the zombies and all...

I wouldn't mind it if demons/spirits weren't as black-and-white as they were often portrayed in both DAO and DA2. The DD and the Templar is one such example where there may have been a mutual relationship going on, adding in shades of gray to their nature.

Heck, the inverse is seen in DA2 with the spirit of Justice.

Very true, if a spirit that was previously good was joined with a person making the spirit turn evil than you could have a reverse situation where a demon could join with a person and become good.

In Ander's case his pure hate for Templars curropted Justice so maybe a person who was truely kind could purify a demon.

Desire demons are pretty smart - I'm sure a deal could be made that for every ten bandits that attack she can "borrow" one <charm one - place to the side as a snack?>. Not sure how you hide having a desire demon running around in your group but heck you can hide magic use from everyone so why not a demon?

One thing Ive seen in the game is Desire demons seem to be willing to honor a contract  - Conners - the demon with the templar in the mage tower...
