What's the metric for being a "flop"? Overall sales? Critic scores? Profitability?
As for Skyrim, I don't think Bio and Bethesda games are directly comparable. They don't realy try to do the same things.

The absolute bare minimum of effort was put into making it, in order to optimally capitalize upon the success of Dragon Age: Origins.

Origins it ain't, but it is a good experience nonetheless. In terms of general sales it is doing pretty well, so I'd hardly call it a flop.

It successfully ripped off thousands of people, so EA did well. Was it a good game? If you even class this as a game and not some Chinese rip off of a game, then no it was not good in any way, I gained no entertainment from this product in the slightest.
So, I'm supposed to class a game made by a Canadian sub-division of an American corportation as "some Chinese rip-off of a game"?

There's also much more outcry about the quality of the game than there was for any other Bioware game I've seen so far. So does the game suck? Not really. Is it a disappointment, was it rushed? You bet.

I don't want to sound like a troll friend, but I've been on this forum for a day now and I've seen you in so many threads where the TC was even remotely negative about the game and there you were defending Bioware tooth and nail. It's okay to be defending your favorite company against all odds, but at least have the honnesty of admitting it.

Trololololololololol
I just want to address the obvious troll with a few obvious statements of my own. Using a certain nationality to make your point that "dis gaem suxs hard" is ridiculous and shows how immature you are. Not only that, there are plenty of people who enjoy the game, so stop acting as if you're right and they're wrong. Not only that, starting your post with a hostile and ignorant statement like "it successfully ripped off thousands of people" just makes you look a troll.
People were hardly "Ripped off" when they bought this game. They might have been disappointed with the game, but I hardly call that being ripped off. Hyperbole doesn't make your argument right.
Anyway, I don't think DA2 was a flop. Sure, it had its downsides, but I can point out plenty of mistakes made in plenty of other games, including Bestheda ones.

Its something between those two.
I would give it a 5/10. i think.
But for a Bioware game its a big disapointment. For Years Bioware was the best Developer for PC games in my Opinion. Some Games where better some where worse but they all had something similiar. A Soul.
Da2 just comes along very soul-less. Thats kinda sad.
I think many feel the same way. There are Critic everywhere. Even those Previwes with a good score like 86 are full loaded with Critic.
Unfortunately, Dragon Age 2 has not met my expectations. The epic story of Dragon Age: Origins made me play the game for hours, but Dragon Age 2 lacks a gripping story. Most of the time you create bloodbaths by running through the same dull dungeons. There are some improvements like a talking main character, but it's not a new Dragon Age, it's rather a hack'n'slay with a touch of roleplaying.
^thats a 86% Quote from Gaming XP
Those Critics dont come from nowhere.
I think time will tell if its a failure for Bioware and EA. But for many Fans it is.

I absolutely agree.
I enjoyed it as well and I would love to have a conversation with someone
in Bioware and just exchanges a few words or what not. One can only wish.

You haven't really been reading what I actually write then. I mostly take issue with people being inaccurate (especially if it looks to be deliberate on their part). It's got nothing to do with them being critical in and of itself, as evidenced by my not caring about people remarking on, say, the recycled environments (which do indeed exist in far, far too great a number to give the game a pass), or that EA didn't allow enough time for development (they didn't).
You've obviously just assumed you know my opinion on DA2, despite the fact that I've never actually said on these forums exactly what that is. For the record, and you especially...it's OK. A lot of the criticism is quite deserved. A lot of it is also just plain hyperbolic silliness. By the same token, a fair amount of the praise is undeserved and strikes me as obvious rationalization of equally obvious flaws. But, you know, whatever.
ETA: Also, please do provide me these links where I defend the game against even the slightest of criticisms. I'd really love to read all this stuff I don't remember writing.

Fair enough, I understand your side and it makes sense. As I said before, I wasn't trying to be a troll or a smartass, just trying to make sense of this board.
