I just put Arpharazon's Custom Creature Conversion Project hak pack into my module. The first creature I used was the carrion crawler. When the carrion crawler attacks, the visual effect associated with basilisk gaze is triggered.
One possile source of error: When I was merging the appearances.2da files, the one that came with the hak was missing a column. It was called "AnimationSpeed". I left all 0's for that colum when I merged.
Other than that, I don't know of anything unusual.
One other odd thing. Now the words "Conv Conv" appear constantly above my PC during gameplay. I am sure it has to do with a script that was imported with the hak pack. Any suggestions on where to look first?
Getting Basilisk Gaze visual effect with carrior crawler attack

Hi M. I don't know if this helps at all, but I have Arpharazon's HAK in my project too and the carrion crawlers work fine. I've not messed with any 2da's, so maybe anything that was empty was supposed to be? Sorry, I don't know enough about 2da's to know what's right & wrong in them or should or shouldn't be there.
Also - that Conv-Conv thing was something I noticed in my module when I imported it into my son's account for him to test. Found the solution somewhere on the old forums & wrote it down in case it came in handy - maybe this is its time:
There's a script labelled "NW_C2_default4", line 40 needs to be commented out.
Maybe its something that's imported from a HAK somehow?
Anyhow - it worked perfectly for me.

Thanks Cly,
I checked the script and you were right. Line 40 needed to go. Thanks for that.
Based on what you said, I'll re-look the 2da and see if I made a misake there.

I was wrong about when it happens. The effect occurs anytime the carrion crawlers are hit with a physical attack.

Hi again. Just been testing some changes I've made as people have been reporting problems with odd bits of the mod. I'm really surprised that the XP system has generated such strong feeling from a player, but maybe I'm weird in not wanting to end every encounter with a corpse!
Anyhow, came across a carrion crawler & paid attention to the effect on hit. For me its like a green splat every time it gets hit in melee, which looks pretty good to me & doesn't sound like the effect you mentioned seening, so maybe there's something in your override playing up?
I can't see any way to insert a pic here, but I'll try & upload a screenshot I took into my projects page so you can see what it looked like.
