Another thing is the codex says Carver leaves home to join the King's army when the Blight begins, and then one month later he comes home after Cailan has been killed.

I don't know what point you're trying to make. Lothering was not destroyed right after the Warden left. Actually, you can do at least one main quest before it's engulfed by the Blight

Lothering was not destroyed right after the Warden left. Lothering is destroyed after the first major plot quest, be it the Brecilian Forest, the Circle Tower, Orzammar or the Urn of Sacred Ashes (IIRC). Theoretically, the Warden could have spent months roaming around doing minor side quests and Lothering would still be there.

Edit:  Added in Orzammar to the list.  I think I mentally blocked out the Deep Roads.

Mage Hawke's codex entry claims that when the Blight begans, Carver leaves his family to join King Cailan's army to fight the Blight. Then only a month later, Carver returns home telling the family that Cailan has been betrayed and killed. If you believe this, the Blight has not been going on for very long. It has not been going on for 3 years.

Out of curiosity, where do all these dates come from? I recall most of the time frames we're given being decidedly vague, yet the wiki seems to have definitely placed most events.

No one exactly knew when the Blight started. Duncan had assumed there was a Blight and not many believed him. So to say Carver left when the Blight began could be in terms of how the people viewed it. Carver was also only 18 at the time so he was possibly too young to be in the army or at least forced by his mom to stay until he was older.

Wiki says 9:30 (just after breakfast), definitely. I don't remember the architect pointing to a calendar or anything, mind.

Wasn't that the attack on Ostagar? Warden was recruited at 9:29. As mentioned in DA:O, there had already been several attacks there already. There's no timetable as to when those battles happened and it couldn't have been very frequent or otherwise Ostagar would've been cleared out way before Duncan and the Warden got there.

In a party banter between Merrill and Bethany when Merrill says she hasn't seen her parents in 10 years. Bethany says her father died in the blight? I thought Malcolm Hawke died like 5 years before it? Whats she talking about? Plot hole is bad <_<

Everybody makes mistakes... Plus how does this information alters the main plot? :o

It says it's when Archy found the old god. Prior to that the 'spawn would have been mostly digging holes.

As I say, I have no earthly idea what that's based upon.

That isn't a plothole, it's most likely an error but could also be a hint at some larger secret surrounding Malcolm Hawke.

Personally I was certain he would turn out to be alive, I actually thought he was the one who had kidnapped Leandra during All That Remains when I saw the big picture of her and the Amell family stuff in the lair. Oh how wrong I was.

That is interesting. Wonder where that timeline came from

Guys did it ever occur to you that Bethany was the one who was lying? Maybe Dad died of something awful and it's a family secret, so the cover story the Hawkes use is Dad died in the Blight. Maybe Dad, an apostate mage, died of becoming an abomination that had to be put down. Frankly I wouldn't admit to that.

Heh - great minds sir!

That, or even just a common situation people find themselves in where it's easier to phrase something in a way that's not completely accurate than it is to take the time to explain in more detail. Saying it was the Blight basically requires no additional explanation and doesn't invite follow up questions that she might not care to answer.

I think there are plenty of things to complain about with DA2, but this one is a bit nitpicky IMHO.

I think the loading screens in DAO tell you that is the year 9:30. The DA2 codex entry on the fifthBlight says that people disagree about if it was a real Blight, but historians agree it started at 9:30.

maybe Malcom was doing something he and Leandra didn't want the kids to know about, so the cover story is that he died in the Blight

That's what I was thinking. Though many consider that to be overanalyzing. I have seen threads that claim Flemeth is a dragon and another that Sandal is the maker, so I think this a pretty good theory to just throw out there

or maybe it's just an oversight. Not everything has to be a plothole.

Origins had these as well
if you're of Dalish origin, Tamlen talks to you as if you were in the same clan as Zathrian's.

so just an oversight probably

Talks to like if you're in the same clan as Zathrian's? How so? I don't recall that.

if you talk to him before you find the mirror, he asks you something like, "what are you doing here weren't you supposed to be with Master Varathorn?"  Varathorn was the merchant/bow maker(?) in Zathrian's clan.

I think that mistake happened because they originally intended the Dalish Warden's clan and Zathrian's to be the same.

another one I think is where Leliana asks you if you're a mage about life in the Alienage.

Ah very interesting. Never talked to Tamlen unless required to do so
