I didn't have this problem until I downloaded DA:2. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, do you have any suggestions? If I can no longer play DA:O because I have DA:2, well, that just blows.
Does Dragon Age:2 interfere with Origins?

I got Dragon Age: 2 when it first became available and have had a wonderful time stabbing mages in the face, but I got a little nostalgic and decided to go back to shanking Darkspawn... my DA:O no longer works. It loads and plays beautifully... for about 5 minutes.

Not that I know of. I have both installed and was playing DA:O for hours yesterday. What are the symptoms of the problem? Do you have anything in the background running?

I have tried my best to eliminate absolutely any background functions, short of uninstalling Norton, and it still crashes. I even disconnected it from the internet and stopped all communication with the online network. It worked for about an hour after that, but now it's back to crashing after 5 minutes. No matter what game I load, where I try to go, or who I try to go there with, it crashes.

I've heard of some people who are having slow-down issues, but no one else seems to be crashing outright.

What about Dragon Age: 2 could be causing this? I've searched for another explanation and there just doesn't seem to be one.

Dragon Age 2 should not be interfering with Origins at all. It certainly does not for me, both work just fine.

See, and there's the biggest thing that is just confusing me to no end. Some people have problems, and others don't. I heard about people having problems that I wasn't having, and now it seems that I'm having problems no one else is having. I find it hard to believe that I'm truly the only one with this issue, but even if that's true, surely someone out there has a suggstion of what to do.
Personally, I'm at my wits end. I've tried everything short of uninstalling both games and re-downloading them.

If somebody said to do that, I guess I would, but would I have to re-download all the premium content, too? I mean, how I can I be sure that I've scrubbed my computer clean of all Dragon Age related items? I've found Dragon Age files in my Pictures folder, for crying out loud, just how far does the infiltration spread?

I haven't tried Awakenings or any of the other premium content. I haven't even gone back into Dragon Age: 2 since all this crashing started. If the same problem is there, then I would say without a doubt that they are connected.
Well, they have to be connected. Even though I didn't play DA:O for almost half a year, now, I also didn't do anything with my computer. I didn't even turn the thing on for 3 months. Shocking, I know, but there have been more pressing issues, like an endless string of people jabbing needles into my arm to try and figure out what in the wide, wide world of sports is wrong with me. They just figured it out not too long ago and playing these games is about the only thing in my life right now that isn't an uphill battle... plus, I paid a total of $80 for DA:O, I'd like to play it. If nothing else, to finish getting all the achievments. I'm 9 away.
