Would you have preferred if Dragon Age 2 was handled by Blizzard?

Having moved the DA series closer to MMORPG quests, more limited class, and character builds (even moreso than DA:O) and having to redo lore and visual style makes WoW have a slight edge over DA 2 for me. Get rid of the cutscenes in DA 2 and WoW feels like more of a RPG. That's not a "brave new world."

-10+ years of development
-weak story full of clichés
-more money invested in advertising than in the game
-DA:O with slightly better graphics that could've been done in 3 months
-lots of "quests"
-no immersion at all...
Yeah, i really want a blizzard age now./sarcasm

It is however, my opinion that Bioware can learn a few things from Blizzard. Particularly on two main things - polish and fun gameplay. If an idea isn't fun and has no hope of fun even after tremendous effort was put into it, they'll scrap it, apologetically, ruthlessly. Then they'll polish everything and everything until squeaky clean.

If there is a Developer to dumb DA2 even more down then Bioware did it would be Blizzard. They are the Master of Brainless Casualgames. But thy make great Intro Videos
I know that you're trying to reference Diablo and WoW, but the Starcraft/Warcraft fan in me just got a whole lotta mad.
As much as i hate WoW, it is by no means a casual game. Rather a "I quit my job to play it all night" game.
And this is not only distant stories, a former friend of mine actually dropped from university to play WoW.
"Former" because he obviously doesn´t have time to meet or at least chat anymore, what with me being a non-WoW-player.
Thats just not true. Wow is the Casual frendliest MMORPG out there. By Far.
You can "beat" the whole game by playing 2 times a week for 4-5 hours.
Ive played EQ1 for 6 years with a total playtime of 420 days and didnt even see the endgame in some parts
But its true you CAN spend 24 hors a day in Wow. But thats a personal peoblem not a Problem of Wow. The same could happen by watching stupid TV Shows all day long
In Wow you get rewarded if you play alone and if you play not very often. You get more Exp and there is just no content to play many hours. Most of my Friends who still play wow log in once a week go raid and play something else the rest of the week.
But back to topic. I did like Diablo2 (played when i was in the army) i did like WC1,2 and 3. I played Wow a wile and enjoyed it. But still. Bioware is something really different (Exept DA2) They used to make non dunbed down Casual games to cater everyone in the universe. They just made RPG games for RPG players with a deep story and micromanaging. Blizzard games are nice but they are made for Kids and for peoples want some mindless fun. But Blizzard can tell some good storys i have to say.
Also i would not be surpriced if DA2 was actually made by Blizzard wile Bioware Dev where in holydays

Lol. This is such a fail post.
- Longer Development time --> GOOD.
- weak story full of clichés: impossible to beat DA2 in this aspect. Blizz stories are great....
- more money in ad than in game: Actually, SC2 was much less advertised than DA2. I have the feeling this is already the case anyways, DA2 was nothing but marketing....
- DAO with slightly better graphics: Would be great.
- lots of quests, no immersion: Can´t be worse than now

No. Blizzard has never made a quality RPG and, as much as I'll rip on them for this DA2 debacle, Bioware has made more than a couple. Also, if Blizzard took over, it'd only be a matter of time before the wardens were battling space elves and sexy wolf people. Pass.
Space elves and sexy wolf peoples are more interesting than battling the same f*cking bandit / shade / teleporter combo for the 500th time, at least.

Mind you, Kirkwall-as-built-by-Blizzard might be interesting to see. Say what you will about their gameplay and whatnot, they cram attention to detail into every square inch of the areas they design. Just leave the characterisation and story to someone else. Please. I'm begging you.

If Blizzard made DA2, we would get:
- 8 more years of waiting before it was released
- even better darkspawn models with half the texture resolution and one third of the polygon count
- a candy colored wounded coast
- male Hawke, Gamlen, Varric, Anders and templar at bar #1 voiced by Chris Metzen
- fun achievements, like "Kite the Arishok to death in five minutes or less without using any crowd control spells"
- qunari tentacles
Just no.

Sorry, I think Blizzard do make good games, and occasionally they're even games I like. (Starcraft FTW!) but I am not a Diablo fan and don't think that lore and story are their strong suits. I'll take BioWare RPGs over Blizzard RPGs any day of the week.

Blizzard is the fuxxing worst story teller in the world.
Blizzard games are bunch of hack and slashes.
No matter how far Bioware has fallen, it is always better than Blizzard.
Haven't played SC2? They are the worst absolutley worst stroy teller in history.

They are good at making lores but their story telling stinks like mouse ****.
"Dude, Kerrigan's back. This artifact is the only hope."
"Oh, Alright." (slaps Kerrigan with the artifact and they go out for Mengsk hunt.)
Blizzard's exclusive skill = artifact crap. everytime there story gets complex they try to make an excuse by artifact.
If blizzard makes me3 I know how it will end too well. Reapers come - > Shepard become mercenery to earn cash and upgrade his gears -> Meanwhile he learns some random artifac that can wipe reapers out - > Dark Voice makes an appearance - > Confront reapers with the artifact , and find out the reapers are actually good guys to warn us of greater threat -> Alli with reapers - >? Some foreshadowing for next sequel
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

& I like blizzard games, and in theory if they would hire some experienced people to help out, it could work, but then you would have to modify the question to something like "If they bought up obsidian, and got the old troika gang on staff, would you want it then?". Not even then I would answer, since the game is BioWares and I'd rather that Bioware ruin DA then have someone else work on it; just like I don't like book series being handed over to new authors.

And by the way... those who say that WoW has cartoonish graphics - you guys are right, but you should also keep in mind that WoW models are now 6 years old (with some of them, along with some textures, renewed in Cataclysm). While DA2, a 2011 game, a game that supports Dx11, in all honesty is a mediocrity as far as graphics go...

Does Blizzard have writers? I thought their devs usually scrapped together some fetch quests scripts.
Joking of course, but its not their thing.
No I think you speak of truth.
I really believe it's Chris Metzen guy who writes scripts. That's the only explanation for sc2 story.
Chris in an interview once said : "in sc2 you will have a number of signifcant choices to make."
lol to that.

Their stories are ok-ish, but they shine in gameplay, although I don't see them making this type of game, they focus more on multiplayer, and do so quite well.
Btw, all people that are jerking off while praising Bioware's amazing story telling. Are you taking the ******?
Family runs from war, does a ton of boring fetch/kill quests (each of them challenging the beginner quests in WoW for omgru4real-lvl) they grow more important by doing even more boring fetch quests and they kill some bad people. The only somewhat decent story line is at the end for a cliffhanger to the next one. Care to explain me what I missed in this description?
Oh, you must mean the companions amazing background, which all seems to be "OMG, my whole life I have this 1 unresolved issue, which involves killing someone."
I bet I can up with a story more intruiging than that. It might actually have an ending, or a feeling of an overlying plot, that ties together all the quests / acts.
I do like their games, don't get me wrong. (well, apart from DA2) At least when Blizzard made it, it would have been bugfree and fun to play, or they would have had the decency to cancel it. (Starcraft Ghost, Warcraft Adventures)
