Blizzard usually has 5 years development cycles, not 10.
Their stories are ok-ish, but they shine in gameplay, although I don't see them making this type of game, they focus more on multiplayer, and do so quite well.
Btw, all people that are jerking off while praising Bioware's amazing story telling. Are you taking the ******?
Family runs from war, does a ton of boring fetch/kill quests (each of them challenging the beginner quests in WoW for omgru4real-lvl) they grow more important by doing even more boring fetch quests and they kill some bad people. The only somewhat decent story line is at the end for a cliffhanger to the next one. Care to explain me what I missed in this description?
Oh, you must mean the companions amazing background, which all seems to be "OMG, my whole life I have this 1 unresolved issue, which involves killing someone."
I bet I can up with a story more intruiging than that. It might actually have an ending, or a feeling of an overlying plot, that ties together all the quests / acts.
I do like their games, don't get me wrong. (well, apart from DA2) At least when Blizzard made it, it would have been bugfree and fun to play, or they would have had the decency to cancel it. (Starcraft Ghost, Warcraft Adventures)
Yes you can make a better story, so can I.
But there aren't many companies that can come up with stories of Bioware level.
Bioware isn't a complete story geak. They balance between 'choices' you can make and 'stories' they can tell.
If you want great stories, there are already 13 FF games out there.
What makes Bioware a great story teller is not just the plots but interactions/dialogues/lores/ characters/ factions all combined. At this point I'm sure neither of us can surpass Bioware.
Anybody can come up with brilliant story with lots of twist, drama, and conflicts. Making a game out of it is a differetn matter, a point I hope you reconsider.
btw: If I were the story writer for ME3, I would surely want to make it much more dramatic(like earth blowing up to dust) than stupid earth saving. But I guess it's a compromise Bioware chose between complex story vs gameplay.
