Well, that and to make magic weapon effects more subtle when weapons are sheathed. It's not so bad with Frost, but Lightning and Fire weapons look retarded.

I'd prefer a middle ground rather than either/or to be honest. Flaming weapons are cool, but not when they are burning strapped on your back. A mod which could make the weapons flame (slightly) when drawn and flare when hitting someone is too much to ask for, but Bioware should certainly take notes.
Bioware should already have notes! The likes of Jade Empire, KotOR, Mass Effect looked great, whoever had the great idea of putting these glowy effects and insane blood splatter in DA should get a good telling off and sent to join the Diablo III team. lol

But when I started with my noble human rogue... all the lights of momentum and the first duelist hability made me feel like I was playing with my mage again, and that's not what I wanted for a 2nd playthrough.

With my arcane warrior I have no problem with all the fairy-like sparkling (arcane shield, rock armor, flaming weapons, combat magic, glowing shield) (I don't know if these are the true names in english, as long as I play in spanish).

The irony of it is that if you play as a mage you don't really need sustained buffs, you're already quite formidable with your vast array of spells and direct damage. Anyway - I totally agree with you, I'm also playing as a rogue right now and I don't appreciate being lit up like a beacon when I'm supposed to be a stealthy ninja!

I'm a Grey Warden, I'm supposed to be bad ass and my companions are, although unable to stand in my shadow, also bad ass. We can show it off by glowing and sparkles.
But during the cutscenes it just looks silly.

Removes all the buff glows. Unfortunatelly not the weapon enchants.

I can tend to agree with warrior/rogue skills/abilities..they're not magic users of ANY sort (well minus templars/reavers maybe in a sense) but buffs from spells should stay..immersion breaking spells? that's like saying a fireball is immersion breaking...spells should show..abilities/skills should not
yes of course i agree that spells should be spellsi thought its obvious. I just hate this magic effects on normall warriors-a-like abilities.
oh and btw...get Annoyance Remover on Nexus site...or perhaps here too...it does get rid of some spells stuff..which sucks..cause as I said spells SHOULD show...but it does get rid of warrior/rogue buff glowies....and Rally's annoying sound evertime a companion runs back into it.
