Help!

I have Zevran to 100 approval and in a romance with my female city elf rogue.  It's been at "adore" for a while.  I only occasionally glance at the approval bar since then, but in the midst of the Dalish plot lines, I looked saw it was now "warm", still +100!

I started going back through saved games and found that he's been warm for a while.  The last time I saw him at "adore" was after finishing with the Urn quest, after speaking with the Brother and him heading back to Denerim.

I declined to help the bad guy and put off summoning False Andastre until later, wanting to head over to Redcliffe and sell off and prepare and such for fighting a big ol' dragon.

The next save is in Redcliffe and he's "warm".  From there I cured the Arl, killed Flemeth, killed the False Andastre, ran through the various back alley Denerim quests and did all the side quests that were solvable at that point, save the Abandoned Building with the blood mages.  Then I set off to meet the Dalish clans.

I have no idea what changed?  They're still sleeping together, still getting the poetry quip when I ask him if I can ask him any questions... in the forest I found the Dalish gloves and just gave them to him and he's still only "warm".

What happened?  Did this happen to anyone else?  Is this part of his romance arc?  Do I need to go all the way back to the Ruined Temple save and figure out where it changed?

Zev's romance won't progress past adore until you do the Taliesin encounter in Denerim, which doesn't take place until you're near the Landsmeet quest.

EDIT: Oh, you said you went back to warm after being at adore as well? Hmm... now that's odd seeing how you claim the romance is still going on (sleeping together and everything).

If you can sleep with Zevran, the romance is active. Did you by chance use feastday gifts? That can cause the wrong status to display.

I did use feastday gifts! That must have been it.

Not until late and already at close to 100 - I just wanted to know if he did anything when I gave him the brandy

Don't worry about it -- it's just cosmetic. The romance is still on, but it will say (warm) most likely until it updates to (love). However, nothing is messed up.
