I think the Dalish accents are nice but it bothers me they suddenly have them when they didn't before.
They ruined Zevran's face.
Those odd sloping foreheads make them look like some weird aliens, especially the ones in darktown.
And the no shoe thing drives me completely mad.
After all the injustices elves have suffered you take their shoes?
It's on you if the next elven revolution starts because the elves had cold feet and stepped in one too many piles of dung.

I think they're gorgeous. I don't care one way or the other about the accents, but I love the way Merrill talks.

I agree with you on Zevran's face. Most of the characters from DAO that made cameos just didn't adapt well to DA2 (save for Leliana), IMO.
The accents were a nice touch, and I don't mind the change. New and improved, right? But the faces are pretty freaky. The only elf that really turned out well, I thought, was Merrill, and no wonder. She's a companion, and gets special attention.
All in all, the elves in DA2 fell slightly short.

Are you suggesting the elves are being shoehorned into starting a revolution?

Seriously, I liked the more diverse races.

The shoeless thing is stupid and makes me think of hobbits. Otherwise I like the new look alright, they do look like aliens but that's ... not really a bad thing, to me. I do have a much harder time with the whole "humans totally think all elves are SUPER HOT" thing, but that's a personal taste thing.

I loathe DA2 Zevran's look, though. He looks awful. :(

As far as appearance goes, they are hit-or-miss. Some (Merrill, Fenris, Lia, Athenril, Orsino) look really attractive. Others (like Orana, for example) just look deformed and awful.

I liked it better when they wore shoes... :(

Sorry that not all elves are gorgeous? Not all humans are cute too but I don't see anyone stating that.

Elves look like elves now. They don't look like humans with weird ears. And they don't need to deal with your shoe fetish.

I was just stating my opinion...I never suggested they should change the game for me.

Don't mind the redesign. Fenris, Orsino, the keeper, Merrill, that smuggler chick you can work for at the beginning (forgot her name), and the elven girl you can save from that perv are gorgeous. They finally look like a different species now instead of pointy-eared humans.

And as it is in Real Life, you're going to have attractive, average and fugly. And beauty is subjective. What is one person's hot makes another shudder.

It's a little disappointing that Zevran didn't adapt well, but Fenris' pretty face made up for it :)

Those that got actual work done on them look good (Fenris, Merrill) every other elf looks like some sort of mutant thing, So overall I do not like it, there was not really a need to change the design, since the elves in the game world are able to produce offspring when mating with humans that means that they are two branches of the same species, as such it makes sense that they look alike.

But to be honest I do not really mind the elves too much so I'm not freaked out or anything over the change, it's just curious.

Oh hey another thread on this.

I like them. Zevran isn't too bad (that one unflattering screenshot should be countered with Zevran's smirk!) and I'm generally ok with even the ugliest elves. Variety deals with the ugly and the pretty after all. Magister's Orders... that elf was something. ;)

I love the new look, the eyes & ears were gorgeous. It's a pity they didn't look like that in DA:O.
The no shoe bit was definately weird though. I did see some Dalish wearing shoes so maybe it is part of the opression. Am now wondering though if Orsino wears shoes or if Meredith gave him some then took them away to teach him a lesson.

The accent doesn't bother me because it was in The Stolen Throne that few Dalish spoke the king's tongue well, so I always pictured my Dalish characters having a slight accent. I don't like the physical changes much. The elves look too alien and are so scrawny- they really didn't need to be more anorexic looking than they were in Origins.

I don't mind the redesign, I wish they were somewhere in the middle though. I don't like a lot of the morphs that are on the more extreme end of the spectrum regarding the new features; for instance, Orana and her creepy bug eyes or Huon who looks like a rabbit anthro. But some of the others like Athenril, Fenris, Orsino and Varania are nice.

I agree that Zev was butchered. It's a crime to take such a handsome elf and turn him into Gollum.

QFT.  The high nose ridge also looks much better on the males than the females.  Elf women did not fare well in the changeover.

I like that the elves no longer look like petite humans.  Now they look different from humans even with long hairstyles.  Orana may not be gorgeous but she is obviously elven.

I am not a fan of the bare feet.  Hawke's the Champion of Kirkwall and can't get Merrill shoes after she complains?

Also (and I'm sure I'll get blasted for saying this), I really do not like Fenris' character design.  As separate elements, I could accept the feathers or the stirrup pants or the bare feet or the tattoos or the mismatched hair/eyebrow color...but taken altogether it screams "look at how freakin' exotic I am - you know you want this!"  I know games are primarily to please fans, but could the designers turn down the pandering just a smidge?

I still like Fenris as a character because some of the dialogue options feel like they have real impact and the his animators in the cutscenes are FANTASTIC, but whenever I see him running around Kirkwall I cringe a little.

Not really liking it.
Giant heads sitting on tiny skinny bodies, freakisly tall necks, rabbit ears, Avatar-like forehead...
I am perfectly okay with making elfs look more... different, but this? You can as well make them look like a cross breed of a Predator and little kids if that's not "different than human" enough for you.

Merrill and Fenris are the only elves that look allright with the new design.
The rest? Albino Na'Vis. Soo do not want.

I like it. The elves in DAO were like shorter, stocky humans with slightly pointed ears, and while the women looked okay enough, some of the men's faces were messed up. It's also nice that not all elves are gorgeous in DA2, which would be ridiculous.

Considering how often could only tell elves from humans by the pointed ears in DA:O (and if thier hair completely covered thier ears, that method was shot) I like how elves now look like, well, someone that isn't human, yet still can be atractive enough that elf-blooded humans and romances with the elven companions can be belived. I can see how that high/flat/noexistant nose ridge can put some people off, but honestly beyond that it didn't seem there was any more or less of a good-looking/fugly ratio than with humans.

Fan consensus is that his hair is mismatched because it's premature gray as a result of the trauma to his body. Which to me makes total sense.

I don't think his outfit is any more ridiculous or exotic than going with no pants, wearing a chainmail catsuit with cutouts or sporting two seperate, heavy coats (one of which is a little bolero... seriously?) and a fuzzy shrug, but that's just me.

They weren't all pretty in origins either.
And I can see making them look more elven but to me they don't look elven they look deformed.
Also I can see where some would want longer ears but sticking straight out from the head instead of against the side looks odd.
about the accents these are the exact ones that didn't have them before how do we explain them having them now?
My fenris has light blonde hair and ice blue eyes lol I love mods.

I thought Fenris was the only decent looking one, although I wasn't a fan of his skinny jeans & bad posture. the rest looked hideous.

^This.
The Dalish are supposed to be feared warriors, right? I have a hard time buying into that when they're a little wider than toothpicks.

Dalish should look like this, not the anorexic aliens in DA2:

I love the changes, both in their looks and accents. Yay for a different looking race.

Do some elves look horrible? Sure, but it's not like all the Origins elves would win beauty contests themselves.
