Zevran... I do not like the way he looks, but that has more to do with some real oddness with his features and skin, and not the bone structure. Had they put some effort into him, he could have been both recognizable and good looking in a new-elf way.

I love the changes, both in their looks and accents. Yay for a different looking race.
Do some elves look horrible? Sure, but it's not like all the Origins elves would win beauty contests themselves.
Cammen.
I like the change. It took some time to get used to, but it's nice to have elves that don't look like the norm.

I like that the elves are still generally slight. In Origins, the main way I (and probably NPCs too) could tell my helmeted City Elf warden wasn't human was that she was on the small side, so it's nice to see that carry over.

I don't like the change. Nothing wrong with the elves from Origins. The new look makes them look sick.

Even Zevran was not so bad. I know he wasn't as attractive as in Origins, but honestly I blame the awful armor texture more than his face morph for that. I keep staring at this awful mass of polygons in comparison to my slick Champion robes and wondering how they can coexist in the same universe. Put him in some decent clothes and I think he'd clean up just fine.

I thought they looked cool (esp. fenris (But quick question, did they always have the trademark green eyes (aka did they have them in origins)?
No. Not at all.

If by "Elven" people mean generic "long eared, tiny framed, short" elven, then yes they do look like this, but one of the few things I liked of the elves in DAO (aside from their political status) was that Bioware tried to be diferent by making them look like humans which IMO make sense due to the point I mentioned in my earlier post. But if generic elf is what most people want then by all means kudos to Bioware for making them more pleasing to the majority
Yes... Yes, you're right! It does make sense that different races should all look like humans! Who needs diversity?

Sooo agreed. I am not really buying the whole "different looks". Why make them look like Aliens? Is not the whole social status enough for prejudice?

Well, seeing as neither DAO nor DA2 elves look like that particular image, it seems a little pointless.

LOL I think it's hilarious that Merill has a welsh accent, and yet some of the Dalish differ between Northern Irish and Scottish
Merrill was given to that clan due to her magical talent at the age of 4. Considering she comes from a very foreign country, it would make sense that she has a different accent.

I'm in the minority, but I thought Zevran in DA2 was an improvement. I can see the complaints about his face being a little off, but in DAO, since he appeared as smaller human, he came across as a teenaged surfer. In DA2, he looks very much like an adult. I liked his new model and he was still recognizably Zevran. (I would not have recognized Nathaniel Howe apart from his trademark hair.)
I don't care about the barefoot thing. If that's what the designers want to be a quirk for the elves (much in the same way dwarves fear falling into the sky), then OK. It just adds some flavor, but it doesn't matter either way.
I do want to know why an elf is wearing a dwarf casteless brand on his face though. =p

I think the change in the elves' appearance is strange and cool at the same time. I've never really found the elves attractive in any game... just not into the whole elven thing, but I think stepping away from a more human looking race is the right direction to go. It's kinda funny how the ugly elves are especially repulsive and/or lulzy and the pretty ones are almost ethereal looking.
I think the changes added a lot more interest to the elves that I personally found missing in Origins.
