I never played a female elf in Origins and can't honestly recall what their models looked like. But the male elves were easily as buff as the humans, and were proportioned exactly how you'd expect an extremely muscular real-life human to look. It looked like all they did was take a human model, tack on some ears, and shrink it to 90%. To me, it seemed to defeat the purpose of having a separate species at all.

But differing tastes, etc... I get that people have mixed feelings about the redesign. Personally, though, I hope it doesn't get altered for the next game.

There's nothing wrong with them being muscled, is there?  They are warriors, at least the Dalish.

If you want a refresher on how stick-thin the elven arms were in Origins, you get a good view of them at around 1:14, 1:45 and 2:08 of this video (NSFW and mushy, sorry).

I really like the changes done to the elves. Some elves are especially pretty like Fenris and Merrill, and others...not so much. Still, I like the change in facial structure. Also, I love the accents. Accents are awesome. Period.

Zevran did look a bit...odd. Before the game was released I saw a screencrap of him at random and he just looked terrible. But after having seen him in game I don't think he looked quite so butchered. Granted, no one from Origins who made a cameo came out looking gorgeous (Oh Alistair...) but hey. It could have been worse. :/

At first I was like well what do u expect being enslaved but then I was like why the heck would elves be enslaved in the first place their taller more agile more numerous they even held the old gods if they were near immortal then why would they be so ugly shouldn't they be more atractive then humans if I was bioware I would not only use Tolkien as inspiration but I'd also use hylians elder scrolls mer idk

I love their changes but if there were a choice regarding shoes, logically I would prefer shoes on.

 The elves need to look different, and somewhat 'alien' for this world, in the eyes of humans. It plays on human emotion to either fear or look down upon that which is different from them. Yet, there is also the exotic aspect that some humans would otherwise find attractive. 

Personally, I don't see how elves wouldn't have some sort of foot protection. One of the many reasons I found Fenris to be overly awkward and seemingly out of place for a greatsword-wielding warrior, for example.

I like them in the different, the daii, I think they look elfy. and I don't think any of they attractive in dao or daii either reeeally
