Quests I Wish Had Been in DA2

Maybe an Apostate underground with similar quests for mage Hawke. I know depending on how you play you might get a few quests from the lady in Lowtown in act 2 in you rescued Grace and friends, but I mean a more fleshed out type of series of side quests where perhaps a mage apostate leader in the disused passages or somewhere else could have given us a few sidequests to help the mages escape Kirkwalls gallows etc.
Warriors could have had an arena or perhaps done Templar type quests for Knight Captain Cullen or even more assigments for Meeran.
Finding more from the Band of Three would have been cool as well, like perhaps picking up on where they left off, finding their remains or their identities. They mention an "F" and a "V" that died. Who were they? Where are these caverns they found? Let us discover the place the Tevinter magisters performed these hundred if not thousands of slave sacrifices to thin the Veil. Where is the massive pile of bones that must have been left behind?
Maybe some of this will be in the DLCs? I just saw a lot of potential that could have been included in DA2 that wasn't there. Varric makes mention to Merril in the party banter of paying off thugs so they would leave her alone as she wanders aimlessly around lowtown and gets lost. Why can't we see ourselves paying off officials to protect Bethany or mage Hawke. Maybe it would take away from the "plot armor" feel of why we can cast spells indiscriminately around Kirkwall and never get questioned by guards or templars.
Just a few ideas I had while playing through the game....

Quests that have more noticeable consequences over time. There was one great example that opens up before heading to the deep roads, but never came across one that had the same resonance.
Which quest are you referencing here just before the Deep Roads?

I don't remember the exact name, but you talk to a "friend" of varric for a rather unscrupulous business deal. If you go through with it, he comes back at the hawke estate and demands compensation due to his incredible wealth increase from the deep roads.
That quest is only there to offer you another way to get Bartrand's 50 soveriegns if you can't get them by yourself.

You're smuggling or killing for pay. That's...horrible. You're doing this for the hopes and future of your family. That's an old old old story. I had the feeling we were going to see BioWare's take on it. Even Godfather 2 had that, Vito hated how his wife had nothing. And she gets her first rug because he stole it.
There's tons of roleplaying potential there. You can be in for this year of servitude for the family first, you can actually enjoy the work, or you can hate it and maybe even sabotage it.
But then we get a flash forward and you get one additional side quest and it's never touched on again. Could be interesting.
Other than that, saying "I wish I got this mission" doesn't seem productive to me. But I really thought we were making a choice of who our mission-NPC was going to be for a while and what that would mean to Hawke...and it wasn't.

Agreed, I bet that's gonna be the first DLC, our first year in Kirkwall played out. There's so much missing from the story. It's a shame it will require DLC's to flesh out the game as a whole. The game has that unfinished quality and I never see Kirkwall as a city change.
A lot is hinted at that could have been part of the story. Getting captured at the end of Act 1 before going to the deeproads would have been a cool addition, either Bethany or you as mage Hawke gets captured and has to break free and essentially "escape into the Deep Roads" to start that quest...Yeah it's all wishful thinking, but I thought it would make for interesting discussion vs "I hate Bioware" "This game sucks". There's enough of those threads already....

Agreed. That man needed to go visit the Blooming Rose or something. Or have the stick surgically removed from his ass.

Doesn't Brann show up at Anders for a cure for some problems typically related to the blooming rose and isabella?

He did in my game. I couldn't help but laugh. Anders was all "if it comes back just use some more ointment on it" like he didn't want to deal with Bran either. Actually, it wasn't so much that I didn't want to deal with him as he didn't want to deal with my Hawke. I would've liked to tease him. I enjoyed the writers' choice there having him as an example of the ugh-Hawke camp.Tripedius wrote...
