Hi there,

I'm having issues with Dragon Age 2 that I didn't experience at the beginning of the game, but started later on, I don't know when it specifically started.  At certain times, sometimes on cutscenes, mostly during conversations, and sometimes just running around the game freezes, but the music or sound is still playing while the picture is frozen, and it forces me to turn off my PS3 and hearing the frustrating three beeps afterwards.  I've done a little bit of research and many others have had this problem, and that a patch is coming out soon for it, is the patch going to fix this as well?  I've read about the patch and noticed the freezing issue being discussed in a topic.

The only thing we know about that patch is that it includes "100+ fixes", including auto-attack. They have not (yet) commented on whether it addressing freezing.

Theres mile long thread on the issue Many have this problem , i had the problem but it was pretty much resolved when i unchecked the login into servers option in the account meny. u can also try unchecking Autosave option. but remember to save often if u do

Thanks for the help guys, I'll try to uncheck the login to servers option as well and see if anything avails. I don't think I'll risk autosave just yet, unless the uncheck option does work. :-)

I highly suggest you disable auto saves and save manually. There's nothing to risk. The final save is created automatically no matter what so don't worry about that.

BTW, freezings for me started only after 16 or so hours into the game...then at least one per game session till the very end...annoying.

This seems to be a trademark of BioWare's PS3 games. First Mass Effect 2 and now DA2. It is highly annoying when it happens, but thankfully, with the 120+ hours I put into my first 2 plays, it only froze about 8 times or so. Sometimes it would freeze after 2 minutes, other times it would freeze after 8 hours. It's very random/ You just have to hope you have a save close to where it froze!

I hope they improve the framerate and screen tearing more than anything.

I have an unverified suspicion that the freezing issue becomes more prevalant as the number of saved game files increases...stay at 10 saved files it crashes maybe once or twice an entire game. Get up to 30 saved files and it starts crashing every hour or two... This is based on two play throughs... Anyne else have a similar observation?

I'll try disabling autosave and see what happens. I didn't get a chance to do anything yet, but hopefully soon. And I'll take a look at my save files as well.
