keeping bonus renegade or paragon points is a mistake. Just because someone finished the game as paragon or renegade before, doesnt mean they want to play as renengade and paragone in the sequel.

This is my thought on the subject. I imported an ME1 Shep into ME2 and I started off with 190 P/R points each. I worked hard in the first game to max those two out as much as possible. I did the same in ME2. I passed every single charm check and only had 2 intimidates greyed out (Tela Vasir, Legion vs Tali). That is really hard to do. I agree I don't want my P/R bars to be maxed out in ME2 but I want to keep the points I already have and inflate the volume of attainable points in each bar (if that makes sense). So I'll start off with 1/4 of each bar filled out.

1. XP bonus
2. Squadmates alive.
3. Paragon/Renegade status
4. like the idea of downloaded armor and/or weapons, but don't think it will happen.
5. Appearances by Aria, Kal Reegar and/or Veetor, Detective Anaya, the Eclipse killer (if you let her go), Seryna, Maelon (if you let him live), and Kolyat.

Since it's been announced that we might be keeping our level/talent points. Do you think we'll keep our weapons and weapon upgrades? If I get to keep all my upgrades I'll be more than happy. I suspect this is the case because their boosting the level cap from what it is now to 31-60. So why not boost the upgrade cap from 6/6 to 10/10?

No, it has been announced we are keeping basic skills. That is not the same.
I posted when the GI article came out that it is likely that we will be "compressed" to around level 5 based on what they said in the announcement. Because the emphasis will be on evolving skills, a level 4 power will likely become level 2, and levels 1-3 will be a level 1. And there is the issue of whether skill points to power level will be the same (accumulate points to get a new power, or guaranteed new power each level).
It makes absolutely no sense to start veteran players at level 30. Either new players have to start at level 30, which is a lot of skill points to spend and negates the import bonus. Or they start near to zero an spend a nontrivial portion of the game not getting to take advantage of the evolving power functionality (because it would have to happen at the same rate as ME2).

My first action in ME3 will be to enable the console, and set both Paragon and Renegade to max. I'll be playing it without that silly constraint. (and still I'll lean mostly to one side ;p)
I'd like to see DLC weapons and armor as well as the Collector Ship pick to carry over.
Oh, and I'd *really*really* like to see my old Medium Colossus Armor back. Pls?

Mostly what I want is bonus paragon and renegade points. It is so hard to get some of the choices in ME2 even if you import from ME1.

Weapon and Armors bought and downloaded in the game and on Xbox Live will return in ME3. So to all you's out there that want that, its happening.
I personally want bonus stat points. Instead of having the character start at a higher level, start with extra stat points to increase strength, and benefits even more in the end for when a normal build wouldn't have enough points to max all stats.
OH and bring back the ME1 heavy armor look. The heavy plating on the chest and shoulders was beast.
