I don't mind for people who like Oghren who want him back.. but I would REALLY Hope if he was brought back he was ENTIRELY optional to just never recruit. Out of all the characters in DA's history, I DESPISE him. My friend finds him hilarious while I counted the moments until I get him out of my group only to be horrified to see him again in Awakening. He seriously made me hate dwarves and think they were just unredeemable in my eyes until Sigrun in Awakening. Who was incredibly awesome and hilarious and changed my mind on the entire race. Then Varric cemented my changed mind, and I can now fully accept a dwarf. As long as Oghren stays the heck away from me. He's just gross and I found his sense of humor too much like the stupid college guys who lived on the floor below me who got drunk and shouted while I was trying to get papers done for my class. ::shudders::

Have it so that people in Kirkwall stop being IDIOTS and ransack the Qunari compound or the location of the Qunari dreadnought's shipwreck for gunpowder.
Years later, a dwarf makes a primitive gun. There we go.

I will forever loathe Oghren not only for his crap characterisation and lame jokes, but for trivialising the Joining in the imbecilic way that he did moments before Mhairi gets KILLED by the same process.
Way to shoot any drama or danger you wanted in that scene in the foot, guys.

• Blank-faced Mahariel Warden silent dialogue: It's so good to see you, Merrill!  How have you been?
• Merrill (nervously): Fine.
• Warden: And how's the clan?  Are Marethari and the rest faring well?  How I wished I could have stayed with you all!  I'd give anything to go back and keep Tamlen from that accursed mirror.  It has brought nothing but sorrow.  I was so relieved to hear everyone safely fled the Blight.
• Merrill (more nervously) : Um...they're all dead.
• Warden:  *Pause*  By the dread wolf.  *Pause*  All of them?  How?
• Merrill (hysterically): I saved a shard of the mirror that robbed you and Tamlen of your lives and tried to restore it.  Since my blood magic wasn't powerful enough, I went to ask a demon for help...and ended up killing the entire clan after killing Marethari.
• *Beat*
• *Beat*
• Blank-faced murder-knife scene

Someone said Sigrun, and I'm totally behind that. Granted, I want Bioware to go all out in DA3 and gives us a romance option for all three races. And ya know? Somehow, I think romancing Sigrun could be kinda fun.

I hope that there will be a different protagonist and, as a result, different companions for DA3. Returning characters would be fine, but hopefully only in cameos.

List of companions I want:

Oghren. He was unbelievably hilarious in his own drunken gimli-ish way. Definitely a fan-fave.

Bethany/Carver. They become an extra companion or possible canon (maybe) so that if you pick a default setting like in DA2 with the "no compromise" or "the martyr". Bethany was so sweet. Definite LI.

Possibly Cullen. Most people didn't like him in Origins, but he was new at his job. He seems to have grown up and is more reasonable.

Dog. You can't have a dragon age game without a dog.

Qunari. Either a Mage or specialist with bombs and a big sword. Sten, maybe?

Nathaniel. This guy needs to be fleshed out more. LI

Stroud. He might become a companion for the "task of importance" they had during act 2 of DA2. His moustache could make enemies die from laughter. Possible LI?

Non-companions.

Sandal and Bodahn. C-3PO and R2-D2. plus, I think sandal has something special in store for us.

Master Wade. This guy was completely awesome. He NEEDS to come back so he can make you more dragon related items.

Varric. This dwarf had a great run, but I feel he should be kept out of harm's way, cause he dosen't even know what's going down.

Old God Kid. He's gonna bring the pain.

Flemeth. I've got a feeling this big dragon is gonna start breathing some flames, if you know what I mean. Just listen to her epic monologues in DA2.

Hawke. Most likely not a companion because he/she just dosen't seem that way. His sibling could help you find him/her though.

Duncan. I know, that Bioware says he's dead, but frankly, I believe that as much as I believe Hawke was an astronaut, or the old god kid isn't canon. This epic beard is making a come-back.

PROTAGONIST: THE WARDEN. Bioware has said his/her story is far from done. He needs to set this shiat straight, and only he/she can do it. This guy/girl was kicking ass before Hawke was even heard of. And he's only about 32-35 by the time Cassandra questions Varric. The warden is back to stick a murder knife in some unlucky bastard's skull. And I've got a feeling they've got it coming.

I forsee a problem a problem with Bodahn. Look at his face by the end of Act III. He really didn't have much time left. I could see a side quest of visiting hus funeral. Maybe a place for the Warden and Hawke to first meet?

I imagine that Cassandra and Leliana will return and one of them would be a companion. Cullen would probably also make a return.
Alistair, Morrigan and Flemeth would probably play a role but not be companions. Zevran and Nathaniel's cameos might be a sign that they could return. Charade also seems a possibility.
