If DA3 is in Orlais is probably going to be at the same time as DA2, that means, Neither: Anders, merril, isabela, varric, sebastain, aveline, carver/beth will be part of it, they might get to be mentioned here and there but, is not going to be the center of it. New main character/new companions, new story.

If DA3 is after DA2, then well.. Sh&! I cant wait for it. New main character, new companions, cameos of old companions as time pass and rumors of ferelden weak state. ( ferelden war? maybe? not sure how that will happen when mages are going nuts in Thedas but..)

I dought we will see Hawke/ warden, they are gone and very soon the Orlasian/new main character will join them.

Protagonist - Warden or Orlesian Warden/Hawke depending on choices during the opening scene. Other makes appearance in the game finale.

Too many people from past games together in what is supposed to be a continent.

I think It'll be a continuation of the Hawke Story with Cassandra and Varric as main npcs with a few new people thrown in the mix.

As much as i love the companions in DA I'm not keen on them returning as permanent party members. I'd limit it to one from each game, re-dwarfed Shale and Charade. Cameos or NPC status for others.

Feynriel would have an interesting story and power spec though.

I doubt any previous party characters will be returning in a playable capacity. I think the party is more liekly to be made up of mostly new characters.

Problem is so many different old companions are dead. Only possible one I could see would be Sten (he needs to come back). Mostly because I think DA: III will be taking place in Orlais when the Kirkwall stuff is going down. Leliana maybe. I was also going to say Wynn but I do not know what happened to her after Amaranthine was attacked. Could anyone maybe patch things up with that

I think Cassandra is the safest bet on companions, unless she has another important role (e.g. the main character's boss). The end of DA2 suggests that Varric is going to help somehow.
We will most probably see Leliana again, even if she's a bit too powerful as full companion if the new character starts from level 1.

There will be plenty of cameos for sure, practically everyone of the previous games can come back (unless dead), but for the party, I guess it will be made up mainly by new companions with one or two surprises (old minor character coming in a main role, as Isabela). Perhaps Fenryel as mage?

I enjoyed playing Hawke much more than playing the Warden, but I want to play a new protagonist next time. A brand new, voiced protagonist. So there are no continuity issues with Hawke and his/her actions/relationships/etc.
New companions. The companions in DA2 were an improvement from the ones in Origins but I just wish DA2 had more in the way of conversations with them.
Former companions appearing as cameos is nice, but I don't see it working out to bring them back as companions again. They most likely would look different and it would end up ruining that companion for you.
Cullen would be interesting as a companion finally!

I didn't care for Cassandra.

Cameos:
Flemeth, Morrigan, and her child-playing an important part of the story, with the whole Old God thing.
And of course Bodahn and Sandal.

I feel bad for the VAs of DA:2 they did a great job. Merrill, Varric, and mHawke especially. But the game is so poorly put together at this point I'm expecting a reboot for the reboot, so new pc and companions.

Although Hawke/DA2 can be salvaged easier than the Warden and co from a technical point of view. I would like to finish my Hawke's story. I never really got to with my Warden, I'm just chilling in some mirror-fade world -- I think.
