How come the former voice actor for Anders voices Cullen instead?

I mean, it seems strange that they would replace Anders original voice actor a new one when the old one, who I prefer, voices a much smaller character. Does anyone know why this is? Did the voice actor simply not want to do Anders anymore?

I guess he voiced Cullen too and they continued to use him for one, but not the other, for plot reasons.

This really bugged me too.

Well, to be fair Greg Ellis voice Cullen in Origins, too. It's not like he suddenly switched over. And giving Anders the new VA makes more sense, since he now has Justice inside him and is quite literally not the same person. I personally didn't mind. I though he sounded reasonably similar, and his performance during his kiss scenes convinces me he was the right VA for the job. *swoons*

He might be bad at voicing melodramatic characters.

If Cullen returns for DA3 then it makes more sense, continuity-wise, to keep the same voice actor through three games for the character.

It was very strange. If anything, I'd figure they' change Cullen to a different voice actor since he's a minor character while Anders plays such a large role. I went back and played Awakening and it was just really weird hearing the old Anders voice. I think I prefer the newer one though; it does make sense though with the justice changed.

I don't know why they changed it, but Howden really grew on me. It was weird at first, but I like him better now.

I didn't mind Ander's voice change. It makes sense lorewise since he got possessed and was no longer the same person.

I think his new VA (Anders) does a wonderful job, but part of me will always miss the original Anders in both voice and personality.

He said he only wanted to voice sane and good-looking characters this time.

And thus DA II Cullen was born.

Lol didnt even notice he has a different VA.

I guess since Anders changes because of the "fusion" with Justice it was more reasonable to change Anders voice instead of Cullens.

Not to discredit Greg or anything, but Adam captured Anders' anguish and desperation brilliantly. His voice made Anders' emotions feel real. The way it would crack and quiver truly reflected Anders' struggle to retain what little is left of him. There were times when I thought Anders was just going to breakdown and cry.

I guess they changed him because Cullen will have a bigger plot role in DA3 or an expansion. You know, as companion, wink wink.
