Where's the Transgender Hawke? Or the Bifestive Hawke (ie. the Hawke that only goes for the same-sex when drunk and someone has a camera handy).

There were cameras 500 years ago? Image IPB

500 years ago? I thought this was set in the 90s. Oh well. I rephrase then: the Hawke that only goes for the same sex when drunk and has a bard bard/artists around to paint their picture". Thedas needs a facebook.

Don't give EA any ideas. Lest you want to see Farmville as a side quest for DA3.

Bicurious is just as ridiculous and accurate as biFESTIVE.
I swear, the amount of 'subgenres' and names for sexual orientations makes me roll my eyes sometimes. I know it's human nature to categorise but jeez.

I get a great sense of fear coming from this community on this subject and its rather disheartening to think we have come so far as a species to be civilized and accept others, with Bioware being one of the front runners pushing the sexual boundaries in games. Then we have mental children like OT who are bothered by other people's choices and the ability to have everyone able to roleplay their preference with any character.

You guys may think its funny but its this way of thinking that make humanity equivalent to cavemen and instead of being happy all walks of like can romance majority of the NPCs we have homophobic people ruining that

I think you are over reacting.  OP was just surprised that all the romancable companions seem interested in Hawk.  It's understandable, as it's not exactly typical in games, and in real life, most people don't have that many bisexual or homosexual friends trying to get with them.  lol  It's not WRONG, and it is progressive and inclusive of Bioware, but it's understandable that for some it's a bit jarring.  And of course there is nothing unreasonable or homophobic about questioning weather or not 'variable sexuality' weekens characterisation.

My problem isnt in what the Op said but what was in his subject title. ****** is NOT the correct term for a homsexual person! Seriousy OP... You said you were a sciance student. If your that smart than you should have tried to avoid derogitory subject titles.  Some people on these forums might just take offence to it.

You are right in this matter. I didn't realize it was a derogatory subject title at the time I posted it. I should be open minded, and therefore I'll accept your suggestion and I'll go back and change the title.

Thanks you. & might I suggest saying " Why are there so many GAY people in Dragon Age 2" It still sounds a bit slanderish, but it sounds better than the former.

Oh, I just changed the title to "How come there are so many homosexual characters in the game?" Does it look OK to you now? Once again, I really didn't mean to upset anyone. I'm sorry.  & I have to go to bed now because it's already 2 am for me :)       Talk to you guys in the morning!

Some people try it out because they are young, horny, and curious, but it ends up just being a phase, they find they prefer one or the other, or can't sustain a relationship, hense the curious part.  Real bisexuality is being trully interested in both on many levels, from base lust to the deapest love.

And then there are Sorrority girls, Scenesters, and pretty boys who play bi for attention because they know it turns on the oposite sex, who they are really interested in.  They aren't really bi-anything.

So many? You name 3 characters and that is so many? There are way more straught characters in this game and you are whining about how many people like the same sex?

It's my choice if i want to have a same sex romance so why shouldn't i be allowed just because you don't?

Where exactly did he say he didn't want the romance options present, may I ask?

Why some people actually try to be offended, I'll never understand.

I don't think we should even care enough to look as far into it as that. That's just me, however.

Relevant part highlighted.

It's human nature to study and investigate, and different people will have different interests. Labels facilitate discussion. That's all.

You don't understand because I'm not offended or trying to be but the way he is complaining is like he is saying he doesn't.

I'm not making an argument out of this, just been so many topics of this already.

To be blunt, your post hardly makes this topic less of an argument.

Anyway, this is the General Discussion forum for DA2. It's doubtless going to be full of the same rubbish repeated ad infinitum for the foreseeable future.

It's purely a gamest reason. The easy way to include options that cater to gay, bisexual and lesbian gamers (or people that just want to play GBLT) is to have all the romantic options be bisexual. (By the way, there's no homosexual NPC's in the game unless your Hawke was).

The worst it dose is that gamers that want to play a straight male Hawke have to face Anders acting like a petulant child when they tell him they aren't interested in no uncertain terms. He's acutely less aggressive about it then Isabella is.

I really don't understand the reason behind making everyone bisexual. This isn't DAO anymore, its ME. Shepard don't have bisexual team members, because Shepard is straight. Thats the way it is. Hawke is also a character created for DA2, and since player have choose as to what kind of person Hawke is, unlike the Warden, Bioware should have made him either gay or straight. Its just one of those "choices" they try to make this game looks more opened when in reality its not.

Acutely, in ME Shepard can play straight male, straight female, lesbian female, bisexual female, or nonsexual female or male. And I think I covered the "why" pretty well, to allow for options of gay and bisexual male and female PC's. I rip on the game a lot, and I still hate Anders, but this was a reasonable way to do it with the resources available.

DA2 doesn't have to do something just because ME did it, that's ridiculous. Also, why does Hawke have to be either gay or straight? Bisexual people exist. If you really need Bioware to label Hawke with a sexuality, obviously it's bisexual.

Also, Hawke felt much more like "my" character than Shepard did. That's a subjective opinion, of course, but that's been my experience with the game.

I'd aruge with you, but single player old school roleplaying games are not known for helping people become practicing hetrosexuals..

Though if you are going to play a lot you might end up doing plenty of practicing at being hetrosexual..

Homoerotic subtext in FPS? Never happen. I mean, it's not like hypermasucline characters with shining, overdeveloped muscles are everywhere in them.
