I'm not sure how far into developing the exploration planets (i.e. like the UNC worlds from ME1 and N7 worlds from ME2) BioWare are for ME3, but I thought maybe we fans could perhaps come up with some suggestions and ideas for it. Now what I mean here isn't so much of a "ME1 UNC vs. ME2 N7" type of thing or how they should be done overall mechanics wise, but instead coming up with ideas for some unique worlds, concepts and fantastical sci-fi locales to visit. You can post basic concepts, descriptions or even some sci-fi art, etc. to get your point across. They don't necessarily need be original concepts, and can be from other sci-fi you've seen, etc.
For example, perhaps a planet with large crystal structures on it that perhaps disrupt biotics, kinetic barriers and/or tech-based powers, perhaps trying to absorb energy. Not only would this provide an interesting new place to visit that could have a unique look and sci-fi beauty to it, but also provide an interesting gameplay mechanic whereby players using biotic powers may find their attacks being interfered with, or their shields being drained if they're too close, etc.
Beyond that I'd also like to see an Arrakis-esque sandy planet, with just wind-blown dunes for miles and miles and perhaps some unique flora and fauna. Intermittent sandstorms would be cool too, hampering visibility (this was done fairly well in a couple of Unreal Tournament III maps for example).

I would like a return to sandbox exploration. But bigger and more detailed. I challenge BioWare, furthermore, to make it even more detailed than Red Dead Redemption's landscape. And five times larger than Mass Effect's sandbox areas.
It can be done. Take your time, BioWare. Take as long as necessary.

Well I'm a sucker for Dune so yes anything even remotely similar to arrakis is good in my books.
As for what I Would like to see well I like the idea from that colony thread where you would go through a sinking offshore Eezo rig. Which if done right could be awesome, transversing through chest high water, claustrophobic spaces, evacuating workers, sealing off bulkheads... awesome.
Or another personal favorite of mine would be a mission located in a sinkhole, either being located at the bottom of said sinkhole or a facility built into the walls of the sinkhole (say what you will about the prequel trilogy, but Pau City was breathtaking.)
And I would like to see a mission similar to the broken arrow... but with a twist. Instead of saving the ship have the objective be retrieving data from the ships computer followed by ensuring the ship crashes all the while leaving said ship in a sufficiently bad ass manner.
