I actually enjoyed DA2.
It has its issues: reused maps, the cartel airborne infantry & the emptiness of the city being my main gripes (and the beating around the heads of the elves with the fugly stick!

). That said I didn't enjoy it as much as DA:O, but thats just my opinion and I don't expect everyone and his\\her dog to agree with me.
However to say that only a few people don't like the approach taken in DA2 is a bit naive, or downright delusional. You only have to look at the user scores on metacritic to see that DA:O got 8.3 after 338 comments, whereas DA2 has 4.3 after 1118 user reviews. Heck DA:O even scored higher with the professional crtitics: 91 vs DA2's 82...
I think it is a testimony to the high level of expectations that people had for DA2 based on previous titles that have caused such a high level of criticism. Many commentators have said that if it wasn't Dragon Age, or wasn't a Bioware game, they would have scored it higher.
I think many people have gone over the top in condemning DA2 and have scored it punitively, as is their right, but in the process have ignored some of the good ideas that DA2 presents... I love the framed narrative concept & would have liked to see more of the man vs myth.
It is all too easy to ignore the good in the flamestorm of criticism that has fallen upon DA2, but I would like to point out that out of 1118 user reviews 318 were favourable, that's almost as many as commented on DA:O in total...
Bioware has to move the genre forwards if they are to maintain an edge and stay in business, what they now need to do is look at the feedback and work out what worked and what didn't... hopefully the constructive criticism thread will result in an awesome DA3.
