Evening everyone,

Sorry if this has been posted a million times already... but I was wondering if any of you had any tips for the first wave on Horizon against the Husks & Scions in the courtyard. I've been at it for a few now and I just can't seems to get through it. I did read up on a few tips/strategies but none of them were Vanguard specific...

What I've tried so far;

- Running left as soon as the event starts onto the platform overlooking the yard
- Killing a Scion before the event starts
- Kiting (& failing at it) Husks while trying to kill Scion

Also, this isn't my first playthrough so I do have all the weapons and all that good stuff.  Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

What weapons do you have? I have either Claymore (NG+) or Eviscerator (NG) so I simply Charge the Scions, kill them asap, and then deal with the Husks.

My build is pretty terrible and I forget if there's a way of fixing that.. BUT I'm using

M-5 Phalanx HP
Geth Plasma SG
M-96a Mattock HR
M-12a Locust SMG
Arc Projector

Face palm at my failness ._.
Weapons were working fine up until this point

With the Mattock, you should be able to take down the Scions pretty easily, especially if you get close (Charge them).

Tried that, worked out great! I'll definitely tinker with that some more until I get even better results. Thanks! Solves one of the headaches now, any other advice on the rest of the encounter will still be much appreciated!

i play my vanguard alittle differently than other people, i dont use the charge as aggressively as other people, i use it to reposition myself and flank. i also tend to use my SMG / AR far more than my shotgun.

it works great for me, using pull and slam alot, then again i play on hardcore and not insanity so i dunno if my style would work well in insanity.

i just see alot of people saying vanguards should only use the shotguns, but i only use it that way situationally, so find a style that works for you. if you're dying alot try taking your time with the fight instead of rushing it.
