Once the patch hits, I'm doing this
#1
Posté 03 avril 2011 - 07:13
Selling Fenris into slavery
Giving Isabela over to the Qunari
Killing Merrill's clan
And then at the very end...
Knifing Anders
Dueling Merrill to the death
Allowing Meredith to kill Bethany
Who else is doing this? Also, I'm playing a rogue which mens that my final party is going to be Sebastian, Varric and Aveline. Is a three-rogue setup any good or do I really need a mage?

1. I'm not going to play a game this buggy again.
2. Thank you. I played through using the top options on the dialog wheel and played through as a saint. Now it's time for angry Hawke.

This is a far cry from the Hawke who duel the Arishok to prove his love to a woman who betrayed him and defended the rights of mages out of sheer love for his sister.

Right. I'm playing Hawke as a complete and utter monster who still manages to romance Sebastian and while she gains some approval for siding with the templars, Seb is mostly annoyed at her greed and violence and although he appreciates her pushing him to leave the Chantry and become king.

You can get your "revenge" with Isabela just waiting a bit. She comes back and she tells you with those poor little kid eyes she has that she cares much more than she ever expected.

Whoooooooooooooaaaaaaaaa.........I didn't even know about dueling Merrill and allowing Meredith to kill Bethany! Must start new playthrough like ASAP. (That's what I get for usually playing mages)

You can duel Merrill? Is that one of the things that only happens if your Rivalry/Friendship meter is still sitting near the middle of the bar?
I belive so yes. If you have a decent amout of rivalry or friendship your companions will almost always stand by you no matter what. One exception is Sebastian if you refuse to kill Anders, then he will leave no matter what.
As for how to trigger the duel with Merrill, I would assume you need to side with the templars in the final quest, but I'm not sure.

I had her on full friendship & supported the Templars. She hesitated but followed.
But I had a O_o moment: So I send Anders away. Seb leaves in a huff.
Several battles later my Anders returns, preachy cutscene....
*Boom*
Anders dead.
Hawke: Dammit. Now Starkhaven will attack and........DAMMIT ANDERS!

Yes, just like I said. On my last playthrough I had around 70 or 80% friendship with Merrill (the only companion I hadn't maxed out) and she followed me despite siding with the templars. But if I had had like only 20% friendship/rivalry with her, she would have left or turned on me (I think).
Oh yes I forgot to mention this earlier but; just like Sebastian will always leave if you spare Anders, so will Anders always leave if you side with the templars no matter your relationship with him (provided he is still alive ofc) .

I have seen evidence on YouTube that strongly suggests otherwise, actually. Well, t "suggests" is much to light a term. It makes it bltantly clear that Anders *can* stay with you if you spport the templars and don't kill him. I have no idea if you have to be in a romance for this to happen. But I've seen teh proof with my own eyes.

I want to be the evil soulless bastard who sells Fenris and gives Izy to the Qunari etc but I like to theme my evil plahthroughs to have the darker/more evil-ish companions too and as DA2 has it, that happens to be Anders, Fenris, and Izy.Dasher1010 wrote...

So if I truly do all-out evil, I lose Fenris to Danarius, Izy to the Arishok, and Anders because I kill him(my evil playthrough sides w/Templars lol). So it's rather impossible for me to truly be evil on my evil playthrough

The main difficulty IMO is that your rogues won't be able to set up cross-class combos for each other, so you will definitely not want to waste any points in anything that Disorients mobs. But if you turn Aveline into a monster nigh-invulnerable tank and go with 3 ranged rogues, you can probably get away with scooching your rogues into a corner somewhere (so mobs can't appear behind them) and having all 3 of them just annihilate one mob at a time while Aveline sits there and taunts to keep the rest of the crowd busy. You shouldn't have trouble with mages because 3 ranged rogues ought to be able to take any mage down nearly instantly.

Never. There wouldn't be enough water to wash myself clean if I sold that guy into slavery, even in a video game.
You could compromise by hitting the "sure take him" option and then changing your mind. Fenris' WTF HAWKE?!?!? is pretty entertaining and you could argue that messing with him is far more sociopathic than letting Danarius take him and skip the opportunity for all that lovely violence.

I've had Merrill sit at 0%, give or take 15%, sided with the Templars, and she never did anything. I'm a little skeptical that this option exists.
0% as in neutral or 0% as in full rivalry?

Edit: Dasher, you forgot to side with Petrice and Varnell by killing the Qunari delegates and then burning the corpes. Good times... Oh, and make sure you take Orana as a slave right in front of Fenris. It's pretty damn funny.
