forgot to mention this earlier but; just like Sebastian will always leave if you spare Anders, so will Anders always leave if you side with the templars no matter your relationship with him (provided he is still alive ofc) .

I have seen evidence on YouTube that strongly suggests otherwise, actually.  Well, t "suggests" is much to light a term.  It makes it bltantly clear that Anders *can* stay with you if you spport the templars and don't kill him.  I have no idea if you have to be in a romance for this to happen.  But I've seen teh proof with my own eyes.

I just finished a templar supporting playthrough, with Anders still at 100%. I asked him to come along to make up for his crimes and he refused to side with the templars.  I romanced Fenris though ( 100% friendship) so it could be a romance thing.  So, I killed him.  What I was REALLY mad at, was after I said "murder knife!" he gives this terrorist martyr speech and you have to listen to that and then you can't change your mind and just make sure he is made tranquil and keep him around to make french toast on Sundays.

Grrr.

Even weirder, is that my ending had all the templars AND mages thinking my templar supporting (in the end, I was moderate throughout) was just fantastic.  My almost pure mage-supporting playthrough, no such love from both sides.  Tres strange.

Who else is doing this? Also, I'm playing a rogue which mens that my final party is going to be Sebastian, Varric and Aveline. Is a three-rogue setup any good or do I really need a mage?

You mean, you haven't done the bolded yet? You slow, man.

I didn't sell Fenris but I gutted him too.

And since all you will be facing is ultra-soft Meredith, you can do it with that lineup. Barely break a sweat.

Wow, that would be the perfect irony and punishment for Anders and his terrorist ways... No martyr's death for you biatch, you get to be the personal tranquil lapdog of whatever Templar recruit that is at the top of the Best Recruit of the Week list.

Also, I want to add that with my perfect playthrough, I side with the mages fo sho, but Anders lost the "get out of The Gallows free" card when he went and massacred innocents in the name of a greater good.

Mmmm... french toast.

Yes wouldn't it?  *completely* fitting, especially after the Karl stuff.

:wizard: ---> :mellow:

Although I suppose it would be Orlesian Toast.  And they would probably use quail eggs and heavy cream...

Still, death was too easy.  Tranquil would have been fantastic.

If we ever get a toolset....

I find that quite hard to belive. It would be really strange if Anders, no matter his feelings for Hawke, suddenly fought with the templars. I had him on 100% friendship (not romanced) and after his terrorist attack I allowed him to leave and then I sided with the templars.

That was a decision I sorely regret though, since shortly after I met him in the Gallows and he attacked me and forced me to kill him. A bit ironic acctually, since Anders says, before he leaves (if you let him go), that he is grateful for his life and will try "not to make such a mess of it this time". My point is that despite Hawke being Anders best friend and sparing his lif Anders still turned on Hawke for siding with the templars.

Now if Anders himself can side with the templars, the game just lost some more of its allready flawed status in my eyes. Because having Anders fight desperate, "innocent" mages is just screwed up.

First playthrough:

Had sex with Fenris but felt burned so I seeked other options. spared his sister and made him keep the sword.
Had sex with Merril, moved her to my place, then killed her people. She still stayed loyal to me. Odd thing is I also told her she can stay in the alienage.
Did some dwarf mission to have the brothers break up.
Killed Anders after calling him a monster
Killed Bethany after telling her "You are not my sister!"
Yelled the crap out of the Arishock by telling him "The next time I see Isabella she's a dead woman!" Havent seen her since.
Sided with the templars.
Won over Aveline, Vaeric, Fenris, and Merril.

I was a bloody B**** for my first playthrough. second I was less but I did kill Vaerics brother when on my first I didn't. I sided with the mages and had a preaty high up rivalry with Fenris so I had to kill Fenris since he sided with the templars. I didn't even try to convince to cross over. I took it as is and owned him in seconds (Dash attack, spin attack, mighty swing, I think Isabella backstabbed him or Merril dropped a AOE spell and that was that for Fenris.) I was also shocked I had a high enough friendship with Aveline to win her to help the mages since she was conteplating on sideing with the templars. I also spared Anders and Bethany and won over Isabella so she returned to me.

Varric is a uniqe case. He is a rouge sure but he seems to be not really class based since his cross bow has multiple effects and Aoe's. I wouldn't mind getting the Sebastion DLC.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get Sanchez.

Someone make a music video of these scenes with Leliana's song as background. Splice in scenes of Flemeth laughing, Merrill weeping, Varric shaking his head in disgust, Aveline angrily wrestling Hawke to the ground and Hawke gloating and smiling like an evil maniac.

Actually I'm deciding on whether to do a 3rd playthrough just for making that video.

Edit: Oh wait, anything but killing Bethany.

I couldn't agree with you more about them as I could never find a reason to kill my own sister. Bad enough you lose your brother and your mother. No matter I could never kill Bethany.

Seriously.  Bethany is like the most innocent person in Thedas.  Pretty much everyone you can find some wrongdoing, some dirt on to justify screwing them over.  But Bethany?

Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't point out the irony of the fact everyone rants about Anders' "martyr" line as if being a martyr is inherently a terrorist thing.  The Chantry he just bombed?  Their savior is a martyr.  The most common religion among English speakers (which would be, ya know, all of us) also follows a martyr.

I believe that if Fenris leaves Aveline will always stay (and she will leave if Fenris stays and her Friendship or Rivalry is under 50%). Presumably its some mechanic to make sure you always have a warrior.

Hm interesting. I think it's probably possible to stay with only 2 selectable party members on that route except Hawke (Varric and Aveline), if you send Anders away thus making Sebastian leave, then side with templars and kill Anders.

Anders' writer was surprised that that scene wasn't triggering in the game.  It does seem to be romance related.

You know, if you want to be real jerk, when Aveline tries to get you to help hook her up with Donnic, you can refuse.

I didn't even realize she could be killed until I read this topic. That is, of course, not counting the possible mercy kill in the Deep Roads or her death by Ogre if you play a mage yourself.

Other than first two I already did others.
Killing stupid elves just because they didn't take well death of their abomination ex-keeper is not evil. It is just self defense mixed with justifying stupidty with your blade.
Is there another way than stabbing Anders? Not evil either... He deserve to die after Dissent.
Killing Merrill not a big punishment, killing both Marethari and her entire clan and let her live with it... better punishment.
Death scene of Bethany is lame. When I told Meredith to kill her she was whining too much I wish I could cut her head off instead of waiting for Meredith.

I can do that missing parts on my blood mage tho'. Got some good tips (like getting that girl as slave, killing Qunari and burning corpses and letting Kelder live). As my evil ending will be siding with mages.

With Fenris and Isabel sold  Carver killed in Deeproads I guess that leaves Varric, Aveline and two other mages who will be with me on last fight.  Is it possible to kill Aveline if you side with Mages?

Hmm another good point. I wish we could do something like Cammen's quest in this one. Instead of hooking Donnic with Aveline female Hawke can convince him to tumble with herself instead. That will teach Aveline to stand up for the guy she cares. Posted Image

It would be *logical* if you had a 100% friendship or rivalry relationship that there would have been an option to talk him OUT of his behaviour, and I was very disappointed that the ending was so set in stone as it is.

Maybe the patch takes care of this, if it changes so we can have an impact on the ending, that would be very welcome indeed.

Same here, but my Hawke will romance Fenris and keep him. Other points - same as you.
I wish you could join the Qun. Maybe a DLC, "The Qun". $59.99. Why so pricey? Because Qunari know their worth.:P

I'm killing Hawke's mother with the new mod that just came out on the nexus which is called "kill Hawke's mother" and then I'll kill Hawke in the mod called "make Hawke kill himself/herself GOTY edition".
