Hey everybody, this is my first time on the forums.

My harddrive was wiped a while back due to some error related to a power outtage. Anyway, my ME1 and ME2 saves have been completely wiped, and I'm very sad because I love Mass Effect and have spent 100s of hours on the series. I've beat both games multiple times to try to get the most I could I get out of them and I have put a lot of thought in to how I wanted my storyline to proceed. My question is this: is the story progression stored in the saves, or on my profile? I know that obviously some stuff is stored in saves, but I'm hoping that key points or decisions(i.e. crew members dying/surviving at the the end of ME2) are saved somewhere else. I'd hate to have to redo both Mass Effects to try to get my Shepard just how I'd like for ME3, especially after having also lost all my Borderlands, Bioshock, Fable and Fallout 3 saves

I would imagine that story progression is stored in the saves. If in your profile then there could be confusion if you had multiple characters.

It would also enable you to choose which character to import specifically.

Not much help, I know (and not what you wanted to hear I'm sure).
