In the 6-8 years between the end of act 1 to the ent of act 3 Hawke doesn't make a single new friend. Seems a little odd to me
Is Hawke anti-social?

Well He's like me he has a group of close friends he hangs out with and is just acquaintances with the others.
He probably parties with the people at the Hanged Man and I know the people at the rose love him.

Well, Hawke comments about all the nobles' party invitations in Act 3. My Hawke went out feasting and dancing every other night.

Indeed. My sarcastic hawk is a little awkward. Took me a while to realize humor isn't the most appropriate response to every situation. (Loved ones being butchered mostly...oops)
Anyhoo, as Gamer said, Hawke's got lots of nameless buds at the Hanged Man. Mine loves to get talkative man hammered.

Indeed, my Hawke regularly gets into a drunken haze and wakes up outside his estate with the key half in the door missing a shoe. I do so wonder where those shoes go...

Well in all the years between Acts Hawke also doesn't take the time to buy a single new piece of armor or upgrade any weapons. Or even level up!

Hawke isn't anti-social, but a broody ex-slave, a blood mage, an abomination, a pirate, the Capitan of the Guard, a very religious prince and a dwarf who has a... Uh... Strange relationship with his crossbow are always scaring potential friends.
The fact that he/she gets involved in almost every trouble the city has (from dealing with serial killers to stopping a qunari invsion) doesn't help either. Hawke may be a hero and a valuable ally, but I think his/her only true friends are the ones who fight by his/her side (plus Orana, Bodahn and Sandal, of course).
Anyways, after a life of running away from templars, hiding and protecting her sister, etc. at least my Hawke isn't exactly friendly.

Let's not forget over the time skip between Acts 1 and 2, Hawke suddenly makes a ton of money and acquires a mansion. That's the type of event that would attract a lot of new "friends." My Hawke was likely frustrated by all the would-be moochers, and thus sticks close to the few friends he had before he made it to the big leagues. Plus, all those Hightown nobles keep commenting on Lowtown scum moving up in the world. Hawke's feeling proud he ruined their neighborhood. He's not getting buddy-buddy with them.

I always imagine my Hawkes to be a bit on the anti-social side. When your life revolves around throwing yourself into one dangerous, violent, and extremely bloody situation after another, it would have to be fairly difficult, after a while, to relate to "normal" people (my Warden had the same problem).

Even though bethany is carted off to the circle, Hawke never visits her, even though Leandra and even *Gamlen* of all people do.
So Hawke is less social than Gamlen.

I think by the time they get the mansion Hawke is a bit... intimidating and there are few nobles who would be comfortable with them.. I mean if Hawke didnt like their Jibes, they might be lying beside the arishok .
I expect it was more like the legend vs reality. I dont reckon they got many date outside of brothel or companions either... Just to much "heroism" to swallow { hahah pun intended.}
