When you meet her as a warden at the end of act 2, she doesnt seem too happy to see you.

I guess she didn't like being made a warden? lol. Actually on my first playthrough she was in the Circle and didnt have much to say then either.

Speaking of the circle, I was hoping I could brak her out of there but there was never the opton Image IPB

I think she may be undergoing culture shock lol she had no idea what being a warden was like and it looks like she is grimly trying to cope.

Well, Bethany always just wanted to have a 'normal' life, I think I've read somewhere there was even a banter where she pondered if life at the circle wouldn't be so bad? Don't quote me on that, though.

Becoming a warden have robbed her of the last vestages of normality, so to speak. It's certainly better than death, but I can understand how she resents her fate. :)

I know she hated being a warden since all she wanted was a normal life.

Carver enjoyed being a warden though, since he wanted purpose.

Interesting , I'll try that when I get around to playing a mage Hawke. What is his reaction to being in the templars?

He makes the choice to join himself so I doubt his pride would allow him to admit it if he wasn't happy, but after playing both of them I think he seemed much happier (and showed more personal growth) with the wardens.

I agree. It's hard to get a feel of Carver's reaction to the templars, though, because there's just not much interactions with him. As a Warden you meet him in Act 2 during the Qunari uprising, in Act 3 during Best Served Cold and Finding Nathaniel, not to mention you can have him join your party at the endgame no matter what side you choose. As a templar, you only really speak to him during Best Served Cold and for a moment during the endgame, but he won't join your party if you side with the mages. All this means you have less of a chance of seeing his personal growth or reactions to your decisions and influence. So now he goes to the Wardens every time for me.

She doesn't like Warden life, that's for sure.
Everyone can see that Carver and Bethany are complete opposites of each others despite being twins.

But first time i met Bethany after I turned her into a warden, almost blew my head off.
She really HATES you for it and talks in circles in the conversation with Hawke.
This is an excellent twist to Bethany as a Character, it shows that people can change after dramatic events.
When the templars take her, she becomes as tame as a kitten, makes me pity her more then Anders.

I take my hat of for this nicely written scenario:)

Hmm only nice thing about Bethany from my personal experience is, letting Meredith kill her. I guess that will teach her she will only find peace in death.

I don't feel comfortable with the idea of Bethany in the Circle... not with people like Ser Alrik around. But anyway, the Wardens have to deal with serious, unending nightmares, and I think that's one of the big problems with her joining the order. Still, she could have been a bit more grateful that Hawke saved her life. I mean, she did say she wanted to go into the Deep Roads... it's not like she was forced. Whatever. The game is simpler if she just dies down there.

Somewhere towards the end of the game he laments that he still feels that he has no place in the Order, no purpose. And overall he seems pretty resentful of them.

Bethany's letter in Act 2, after I'd sent her off to the Wardens, just about freakin' killed me. I could never do that to her again. :( I was sad/angry the first game I played when she went to the Circle, but she seems to enjoy it there. So much as any mage can.

She's wanted a normal stable life, In the Circle she has some form of stability and she enjoys it as much as she can.
Still when you see every outcome, i think dieing from Blight might be the most satisfying option.
Warden Bethany scared the crap out of me,
Circle bethany seems to be "indoctrinated" and can die by the hands of a zealot,
Dead bethany is just sad :(

great way to tease the players ;)

What does Bethany say as a Warden that makes her sound hateful? I ended up with her in the Circle on my first playthrough, and on my now second, I have Carver as a Warden.
