I recently completed Awakening with an imported warden who romanced Leliana.  However, in the epilogue the game says that I was reunited with Alistair.  Has anyone else experienced this glitch?  It actually kind of soured the experience as it was the last scene in the game.

I have finished DAO and DAW quite a few times now and I have had a few similar experiences. I tend to look up the correct epilogue on the dragon age wiki and piece together the one for me that is correct. It's not quite as good, but it certainly satasfies something in me.

What goes on is that people end Origins with more than one romance open, either deliberately or they didn't pay much attention and one of them is below the jealousy threshold. Awakening only looks for the romance active flag and it appears to go in this order:

Alistair married (so if you marry him for political reasons, even if the romance is active with another character, you'll get this one)
Alistair romance active
Morrigan romance active (so if you get the "regret and longing" ending for Origins, you will not get this slide as it doesn't look for the "still-in-love" flag)
Leliana romance active
Zevran romance active

Edit: The order for Leliana and Morrigan may be flipped -- since I never romance them, I don't know.

I actually think both Leliana and Zevran come before Morrigan in the priority. Also, it is possible to get both Morrigan epilogues by giving Morrigan her mirror in the post-epilogue save and then importing that save to Awakenings.

And to the OP, are you sure you only had a Leliana romance active, and you didn't marry Alistair? I wouldn't worry too much anyway since Awakenings doesn't actually have a post-epilogue save.

While it is possible to get both epilogues if you reinstate the Morrigan romance in the post-epilogue save, that's really not how that encounter is supposed to go -- you're supposed to give her the mirror during the game which enables the male warden, romance cut off or not (this makes her unique among the companions), to reinstate the romance. It touches her that much. Anyway, Awakening looks at the "romance active" flag, not the "still in love" flag.  But talking to Morrigan after the ritual causes her romance to go to "still in love".  It's a defining moment in her romance; she leaves because she has to, but she's still in love with the warden.  Much like Alistair and his "still in love flag" which causes some surprising events to happen.

It's a shame that BW did not use that flag properly.  As far as where Morrigan is in the trigger order, I would be surprised if she came before Zevran -- usually they're alphabetical, but sometimes Morrigan comes before Leliana anyway in other dialogs.

I wish they had used appropriate flags to begin with -- my real point was that they are looking at the wrong flags for the awakening epilogues.  A lot of problems would have been non-existant had they used the "in love" flag for Alistair, Leliana, and Zevran instead of the romance_active one, and for morrigan if they had used "still_in_love" instead of "romance_active."

I hadn't initiated any kind of romance with Alistair.

Were you married?  Otherwise, Alistair is a super easy ninja romance as well for a female character.

Edit: It's possible you got a glitch, but for the reasons I listed it's a very common thing that people get the wrong romance epilogues -- not a glitch (but glitches are known to happen).
