I'm not sure if you're serious.... but to answer your question: easily.

The personality of your Hawke, the choice of your LI, the choice of your class, the gender of your Hawke, these 4 choices alone can bring multiple playthroughs.

Lmao!!! No.....

From what I've seen the majority of the people who love DA2 are the Tweak gamers Bioware wanted who never play RPG's. So I gues DA2 was a sucess in that way.

At the same time though they alienated a large portion of their core auidience. they were doin it rong.

Funnily enough, I already went through it 3 times, I don't usually do that with most rpgs. I can't say it's of such high quality, but still, Trying different builds is nice. And you start playing slower and noticing the little things you overlooked on the first playthrough because of the combat, which puts you in a mode when you're progressing the game as fast as you can doing quests as from a grocery list.

Ooh, wow. Bashing folks who like DA II as ADD addled kids? Awesome argument! I've never seen that stated here before.

But I suppose I shouldn't expect much more from a guy who can't spell "guess" or "success" right. Or..."wrong". Which is so very, very ironic.

QFT.

I find it amusing that I'm not a player who enjoys RPGs - I do know my tastes differ from others, I mean I even liked ToEE.

Easy, you just don't lead them that much... I mean just click on 'New Game' instead of 'Resume'.

Aye it is precious, to see people trying to demean the mental prowess of others whilst displaying the emotional intelligence of a ten year old.

I've found that DA2 made me want to play through DA:O again and voila, soon after that I played through DA2 again. Since I have bought it, I've played both games and surprisingly (to some) enjoyed both immensely despite their differences.

On topic: Some parts of Origins are EXTREMELY tedious on multiple playthroughs, maybe moreso than DA2.

I will play through both several times...... in the time before Skyrim.

There was a time where I would've rated DA2 a 7.8/10

Now I'd rate it about a 5.8 and it is still dropping. The more I reflect on the game the more I hate it.

That's funny, because the majority of people who love DA2 whom I've been in contact with are gamers who loved Knights of the Old Repulic, Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins. Along with Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

Also a few who loved the first two of those, but disliked Origins. And a good number of them play pen and paper RPGs.

From what I've seen, a large portion of their core audience was so hell-bent on hating the game before it even was released that they really didn't stand much of a chance of enjoying it.

I think it's the Biodrones that make me hate this game more.

It's a vicious cycle.

I enjoyed the whole game faults and all, as opposed to only enjoying the side quests in DA:O. This comes from someone who has been gaming for as long as they can remember and loves rpg's and fantasy in general. I was the core audience for Origins.

I'm on my 5th playtrough right now, differend romances, outcomes for siblings, friend/rival for companion etc. I was sure that four would be enough but I just wanted to play archer rogue and romace Merrill, but after this I think (and hope) that I can stop playing... for awhile at least :D

I've finished twice now, with a sarcastic rogue and a mean mage. I'm currently in act 1 with a nice warrior. I will most definitely be playing a fourth time, with a mage maybe, and will actually really listen to the conversations and react however I think best - even turning down quests if I want.

I am enjoying seeing the different sides of Hawke. It keeps it fresh.

It took me about 36 hours to play through the first Dragon Age Origins doing the main quest and a ton of sidequests and the few expansions I have. Now it takes me 26 hours doing the same stuff

I have totally noticed little things that I hadn't before after playing through again. I really like that aspect. And I'm not even talking about the different dialogue choices.

I have a suggestion:  Get off the forums.  It is psychology 101; If you set up a hypothesis for why something is or is not true, you naturally look for supportive evidence.  i.e., after visiting the forums, you have now gathered a long list of why Dragon Age 2 fails.  Every time you play through Dragon Age 2, you will be looking for evidence to support that list.

Dragon Age 2 is what it is.  Dwelling on why certain aspects of the game do not reach perfection is not going to change reality.  If you enjoy playing the game, then play the damn game and forget the melodramatic bull**** from gaming forums.

Funny, I think these forums make me hate "hardcore PC RPG gamers" more. It's a pretty vicious cycle, too.

Seriously though, I can love DA2 without thinking it's a perfect game. I can also like RPGs while disliking how the combat was ported to consoles in Origins, thinking that the plot of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion was terrible, enjoying Japanese RPGs which regularly feature characters you can't dress up and a main voiced character with a personality you DON'T get to choose, etc. I'm not a "Biodrone" nor do I like the game just because it has a Bioware logo slapped onto the box, I'm a person that happens to have somewhat different tastes than you. It doesn't make me less of an RPG fan, and it's certainly not your place--or any other poster here--to decide that.

The more you guys demonize and belittle the other side of your arguments, the more you come off as elitist jerks. Now if you want to go huddle together in your secret club's treehouse with a painted sign hanging on the front saying "Only oldschool PC gamers that hate DA2 allowed" I guess you can go right ahead, but I'd rather spend my time hunting for more RPGs I'd like to play, or plan out my next playthroughs in the games I already own.

Generalizations again? Really? -_-

Just FYI:

I've been playing RPGs since the bloody M&M Series. I even remember playing text based MS DOS "RPGS".

I played them all from M&M to BG (All), TES.... up to DAO, The Witcher and DA2...

And I love them all, including DA2.

Maybe you should do something you enjoy then and stop focusing on a game you obsessively hate? Hey, play PST. That's a good one!;)
