ok so only a couple of days ago, my rogue attacked like lightning, no problems, but some where since then she's suddenly attacking so unbelievably slowly that its actually hard to play. I can't find the cause if there is any, ive equipped different gear, changed runes thinking that was the problem, i dont see any passive abilities i've learned that couldve caused it.

Is there anything that i'm missing? unless every fight i get into auto casts some type of slow on my character but i doubt that.

I don't understand how you don't straight away suspect that it's a bug.
Google- Dragon Age 2 slow motion and get to this post

Best to just read this-

It's Isabela screwing you over. Her Friendship passive is bugged, and will actually slow your character down. There was a long complicated post on it, but the writer failed to summarize what he'd discovered, so I don't recommend reading it. Just revert to an earlier save and ditch Isabela.

earlier save was far too long ago, is her friendship passive supposed to be with you the whole time, would be nice if it was just when she was around, but seems you have it all the time :/

I'm currently reading through a thread on the subject, but once you've got it, it seems to be stuck, even if you remove her from your party. The same applies to Sebastian's Damage Resistance buff. I don't know of any concrete way to fix it, so at this point, either go back and find a save that works normally, or just start a new game. In either case, don't bring either of them into your party unless you're forced to, and get rid of them as fast as possible afterward. It's not a fix as much as it is avoiding the problem, but what can you do?

Also, the issue is apparently a symptom of another bug, one that's also affecting the Maker's Sigh and causing it to break passives.

If you play on PC you can just open up the save editor and re-adjust your speed back to normal. This bug also occurs if you have friendly with Sebastian but the same fix works for that bug as well. If you play on console you are SOL.

The author of the save editor program details on his site how to save your console save to a thumb drive in order to back up and edit your save. You are not, in fact, SOL playing on console.

What is "normal"? I play on PC and want to make sure it hasn't affected me , but don't want to make myself faster than intended either.

Normal attack speed without any modifiers is "0.0". If you have the Izy/Seb bug the values should be in the negatives. The number for attack speed and damage resistance should be 42 and 32 respectively.

I think the wiki says that if you remove Isabella from your party using the main screen(like when you leave your house) the bug won't happen.Has anybody tried this.I would really like to use Isabella this time around.

The Bug happens when Isabella is automatically forced out of your party like when you go to the Qunari compound or travel to your house while she's in your party. There are a few other areas where she gets the autoboot too but those are the 2 big ones. In addition to this loading any save game that ISNT in daytime Kirkwall or a friends house can also cause you to get the bug.

Just getting the bug doesn't negatively impact your game though. Once you have the bug the only time it will subract from your base attack speed is if you load a game without Isabella in the party. If you load a save game with the bug affecting you and shes in the party nothing bad will happen.

To check if you have the bug just go to Merrill's house, remove her from your party and check your spells/telents window. If you see her buff still there down in the bottom right corner next to the dog icon you have the bug. From then on just make sure to only load saved games where shes in your party and you'll be fine. Alternatively you can use a save game editor and adjust it from there.

Would it be possible to provide a link to the site?

I'm playing on PS3 and this bug is annoying to say the least.

Thanks!

So far, I've only heard people doing it on Xbox 360 saves.  I think the PS3 save files are encrypted :( Sorry.

I know the issue is caused by a known bug, but I do want to point out that a common mistake (common for me anyway) caused by sustained abilities being turned off when you are combat raised (using Mythal's favor for instance). Several times I was dumbfounded by my slow attack speed when I noticed that dying and resurrecting mid-combat turned off my 'speed' sustained ability.

I believe this bug is related to the weird reloading saved game bugs (e.g. maker's sigh + save + reload bug). There is a workaround for this bug - you can avoid this by making sure Isabela is in your party when you save your game. You can get Isabela to stay in your group when entering the Qunari compound by talking to her as she is about to leave.

Here's a brief fix so you won't have to read hours worth of posts. This worked for me on PC:
1. Get friendship fix from http://www.dragonage...le.php?id=2299. Unzip and copy the file into the Dragon Age 2 override folder.
2. Get Dragon Age 2 save game editor from http://social.biowar...ct/1936/#files. (Get the gff4 editor). Edit a saved game. Look under your main character for an animation speed modifier entry. Mine was -15% when I started to feel slow. Changed it to 0%.
3. Avoid temptation to boost your stats with the savegame editor!
I can provide more details if you need help, but I have been avoiding the forums until I finish my first playthrough.

This bug is really annoying. My rogue is soooo SLOW during fights! I always have to activate haste from Anders just so he can fight normally. But it only lasts for a few seconds or minutes? then he's back to slow again.

I have PS3 btw.

That would explain all the Deja Vu as well.

I know I performed some of the actions which should have applied the bug, but I didn't notice any dramatic slow down. Now I'm curious to see if I made it all the way through with a gimpy Hawke.

All these fixes and such are great for PC players but jack squat is being done to fix it on console, I had a HARD time playing as a 2H warrior with Isabela's friendship passive.

So I can't imagine what it'll be like when I run rogue.........and does anyone know how it "slows" you magic as mage, I'm assuming it does. Posted Image

2 questions. If you go for a rivalry with Isabella what happens and what happens with Sebastian?
