So as I was going through my second playthrough I noticed something that I didn't know the explaination to and I was hoping someone around these parts has a good, or even better, an actual explaination.
Act 2 (I didn't notice in Act 1, but I didn't actually look

) I made my way towards the back of the Vicount's Keep to discover...Hawks. Everywhere. I didn't notice anything in the Codex that mentions Kirkwall's love for birds, so I imediately thought it had something to do with Hawke. That doesn't make any sense to me though, in Act 2 you're not "Champion" level important, so why decorate the back in all hawks? Am I missing the obvious answer?
Or, was it designed with hawks for the possibility of Hawke becoming vicount? I hope not, but at least that theory makes sense.
