How to import character from origins to DA II?

I have been led to believe that it is possible to import your character from origins/awakening to DragonAge II, yet I can not for the life of me figure out how. If anyone has some answers I'd be greatful. If it is possible please keep the "how's" very simple as I'm very tech challenged.

You do it at the start of the game.
First you pick your class and play through a little tutorial thingy fighting darkspawn with your sibling.
Then once that and the cinematics finish you get to make your character for real, there are several options, you can change appearance, name, and then the history of the Hero of Ferelden.
Click on the latter option, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see the import Origins save option.

It will only import your plot decisions, not your character.
