How would you react if saving the rachni queen turned out to bite you in the ass in ME3?

So what if I can't? No-win situations exist because they are, well, no-win. That doesn't suddenly make the rational choice for the other person into believing whatever I say.LGTX wrote...
Okay then, give me the "convincing" version. You are the last of your kind, forced into a cage by your sworn enemy, held at gunpoint by a Spectre ready to melt you down on a moment's notice, and have your reputation hindered by mistakes of your ancestors who threatened the whole galaxy years ago. Convince me not to kill you. Go.
Basing a decision off of trust is only reasonable in so much that trust has been earned. When trust has not been earned, basing a decision off of it isn't reason, it's a leap of faith.
I don't deny she's could be truthful. Rather, I deny that the propsect of her being truthful outweighs the prospect of her not being truthful. You can't tell me that she could be any more convincing, and if you say she couldn't and that's evidence enough, then you deny any chance of her being truthful at all, which is plain pointless and more akin to an emotional way of dealing with a problem than a rational one.
I'd certainly disagree, on account that your morality at this point focuses on the individual directly affected (the Queen, and whether she lives/dies) while my basis accounts for the other consequences (everyone, including the Queen), which I find to be far more justified and less discriminatory.Your moral stand makes sense, I'm not denying that, but it isn't one bit more justified than mine.
But then, you'd disagree with that, and we'll just disagree except in that we disagree.

Well, I never had much problem killing the Thorian.RPGmom28 wrote...
I'd be annoyed, but the fact remains that I didn't kill the rachni queen because it felt wrong to annihilate an entire species. Not because I was hoping that in the future it would be helpful to me. It was just the right thing to do. Yeah, they were bugs, and pretty darn icky ones at that. And yes, because of the circumstances at the time, they caused major problems and killed many. But so did the Krogan. Any species could do so under the right circumstances. Not my Shepard's right to kill a species in an instant at her whim.
Or the Collectors.
And I don't really intend to stop for the Reapers either.

I'd be like "Whoops, my bad," then turn on my heels and stroll away, whistling tunelessly as I did so.

Instead, let's have saving the council bite you on the arse - it turns out that the Council members, or maybe just one of them, were already indoctrinated before ME1 began, which was why they've been so obstructionist from the beginning. If the Council were left to die at the end of ME 1, the new Council should be much more supportive in ME 3, but if you saved them they're turning completely against you. Likewise, if you gave the Collector base to TIM in ME 2, Cerberus becomes indoctrinated in its entirety and again turns against you.
IMO.

Whats the worst that can happen? "Oh noes!!! I dont have a bunch of bugs helping me fight teh reeperz!!! What ever will I doesz?" Sorry, but I think I can still save the galaxy even without the help of the rachni queen lol.

No, not really.
Either way, Shep would find a way to overcome the odds. The only way he wouldnt is if you, the player, decided to be a **** and give up just becaue the odds look bad lol.

That's your problem not mine. I never claimed to be a hardcore "roleplayer" in a VIDEO GAME lol. Only time I roleplay to that degree is when Im DnD'ing d(^.^)b

How dare one expect people to roleplay in a choice-based RPG?!
Outrageous, I know.
I just love how people who cant properly defend their point resort to hiding behind "metagaming" like it's a shield lol.

Kidding of course. Seriously though it would probably mean some nice fights against rampaging rachni, so why not?
