Just kind of weird that you wouldnt see any variation of darkspawn in the deep roads or any variation whatsoever of dwarfs.

You don't see that many dwarfs so the lack of lady dwarfs is acceptable. What did kind of pissed me off was the lack of darkspawn diversity. Genlocks and shieks would have made for some interesting gameplay.

Quite a few models didn't get done in the mad rush to get the game out on the shelves.

edit: though, shrieks technically sort of got turned into the new emissaries, i think.

I've seen the "new" Genlock design.
We're better off without them.

No female qunari, either.

No female Qunari makes sense. They aren't warriors or sailors, so they would all be in Seheron or Par Vollen. And I don't think that is a real genlock, just for Legends.

No female Tal-Vashoth?
No priest or administrator was on the dreadnought to take possession of the relic?

The devs in charge of the Legends said that genlock matches closely the concept art of the creature for the "main" DA, and they're actually very proud of the degree of similarity they've achieved.

Meh. If genlocks were in the game, I'd probably just roflstomp them into the ground as usual.

We see Shrieks often enough, and the amount of Hurlocks we face is probably because of the recent Blight (lots of human women been made Broodmothers lately).

You wouldn't need a priest or administrator to carry a book. Besides, the Arishok himself was there to take possession of it.

I'm not sure Shrieks would all get turned into emissaries. Shrieks are just dark spawn from Elven Broodmothers. Just like Ogres are Qunari Broodmothers. Can make them more rare. Genlocks are Dwarven Broodmothers. You'd think they'd be more common than even Hurlocks cause dwarves are already underground. Also just cause I ruled the others out. Hurlocks = Human Broodmothers. Human and Dwarves are caught the easiest I guess.

Probaby helps that Elves live in hovels in main cities as slaves or are Dalish. So the Darkspawn probably don't cross them as often as Human and darven bandits and so on.

Its atleast remotely possible to explain the lack of genlocks around Kirkwall. If Darkspawn are not immortal creatures its atleast possible that the deeproads in the area around Kirkwall have been devoid of dwarves for so long thats theres no longer any dwarven broodmothers left to make genlocks. Ofcourse that still doesn't explain the lack of genlocks in the lothering escape, or the lack of shrieks.

Probably just time constraints plus you are not in that starting part long enough to really care. Honestly I didn't even bother to worry about there being a Genlock. I was just shooting what came at me. Also keep in mind that they would have had to tweak genlocks to more match the dwarf changes that would have been a lot of effort. Plus shrieks to be honest looked more like werewolves but were supposedly from elven broodmothers. This never really made sense to me. Why not have called it a werewolf broodmother.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't include shrieks, since they love using assassins so much. I suppose genlocks would just be a sort of "beast" archetype. (though no more wolves or bears either)

I did find the lack of Genlocks odd, as from what I can remember of Origins, they're supposed to be far and away the most common darkspawn, born, as they are, of dwarf lineage. Shrieks were supposed to be far more rare, as were Ogres. Though the ogres we face in and around Kirkwall could possibly be explained away by the relatively close proximity of Qunari held lands.
