First I apologise for my english :) anyway...
Don't know how and why but today a strange idea came to me: and if Mass Effect 3 will come in just 1disc? I certainly would be VERY disappointed because this would mean for sure a shorter game (maybe in favour of a multiplayer mode??). Even with the new disc update a double layer DVD can't include a game with the same length of ME2...
What do you think about it?

I wish they'd bring out an Xbox with a blu-ray drive. Having more than one disc is incredibly inconvenient and annoying. But what can ya do.

The problem with a PC is that it costs a ton of money to have a top of the line computer.

800-1000 bucks is a ton of money? You don't need top of the line PC to play any game.

Plus the dirty little secret is that with the XBOX360 you are basically running most games at 1280x1024 anyways.

I built a computer for 1000 bucks the other month and put top of the line parts in it. I have a xbox360 sitting in a box I got for free when I signed a new contract for my phone.

I'm not going to spend 60-70 dollars for a game running it on 7 year old harddware.

Disk swapping vs PS3 install & update times = same thing. Not an issue.

ME1 was a MUCH LONGER game than ME2, and, one could argue, had more features. What ME2 offered, in addition to game-play and graphics improvements, was more cut scenes. You know, the part where you don't do anything but watch a five minute movie play. I imagine there will be many dramatic cut scenes in ME3, in addition to multiple ending movies, so two or three discs wouldn't be surprising. Definitely going to install it on my hard drive though, if the performance of disc-only play on ME2 is any indication of what to expect.

and buying an xbox is cheap? Way overpriced platform. Red ring of death plagues all old xboxs and makes them worthless after several years, so you will likely have to buy 2 xboxs because microsoft is such a horrible company that they can't make anything right the first time.

So what if it's on one disk? If the game has the quality of ME (1), which was also on one disk, I couldn't care less. I'm not up tight on whether I have to walk all the way to the console and switch disks.

ME2 didn't feel bigger to me anyway. More like smaller yet more colourful. I'm assuming that a lot of disk space was used for all the pre-rendered cinematics while in ME (1) everything seemed to be in-game.

800 - 1000 is a bit of dough. Besides, gaming on comps is for everyone. unless they have 360 controllers Posted Image

That was true 2-3 yrs ago, but it isn't the case now. Consoles are dirt cheap and the RROD is no longer a threat.

If ME3 was in one disc, then the second would be multiplayer!

I think they should jam as much content as they can.

*gets up after 8 hours of gameplay to switch disk in 15 seconds*

"Ohhh my god this is soooooooo aggravating..." :b

Seriously, the way it is in Mass Effect 2 is perfectly fine.

The only game I've played where this was tedious and I had to switch disks every 2 minutes was Star Ocean: TLH. At the end of the game, your ship where you craft everything is on Disk 3. One of the other planets is also on Disk 3, and so is a bonus dungeon. Most of the other planets are on Disk 2, and another bonus dungeon is on Disk 2. I actually stopped playing the game because of this even though I was initially going for all the achievements.

I would be will to get off the couch to put in the new disc. I want more than 2. Bioware supports some physical activity.

Couldn't one finish the main story arc in ME1 in like 6 hours or so? The reason the game felt longer was the mako and the planet "exploration". I'm not trying to beat on the game because I loved it but...yeah.

You could actually complete the main story arc in ME1 in 4 hours so yeh, not sure how anyone can even argue that ME1 was a much longer game than ME2 at all. The only thing which took any time was driving in the Mako to get to assignment locations and doing those stupid stupid collectible assignments.

I don't care how many discs it uses. No one should. Unless you're morbidly obese. And if that's the case, stop playing games and lose some weight- you give America a bad name.

2 discs minimum. I'll accept no less.
