So we went from RPG Mass Effect 1 to SemiRPG Mass Effect 2 and now you want it to be FPS Mass Effect 3.

Just no .

What I dont want is you.

- Multiplayer
- Planet scanning
- Fuel
- Flying around in a tiny ship to navigate
- Finite money

The last four are obviously connected, but what the heck, they suck and I do not want them back.

You misunderstand, I think Mass Effect 2 had a good balance, and that's where I'd like to keep it. It's just that the first game was clutered, and if Bioware are going to make the game more like an RPG they should at least do it right.

No "Humans are special" emphasizing. It destroys the concept of the entire galaxy being full of wonderful and unique species, all with their pros and cons. Yeah, I know it was a human who destroyed Sovereign but please, if we had the option to play as any other species, they would have been just as capable. And besides, Shepard's just that much of a badass. There are very few humans out there who can match.

Pretty much, more so than Bungie fans.

Don't want: new squadmates.

I've met so many in ME2 and didn't really care that much at the end of the SM if they made it, since I never felt a connection to them, save a few of the reoccuring ones. By contrast, I grieved a bit after the losses in ME1 (and that was only after 3/4ths of the story). Not sure why, but it is what it is.

Volus- The only thing I saw that was cluttered was that you kept picking up equipment from dead enemies every time automatically...other then that I thought it was decent.

The difference is most fans of Bio have high expectations when a Bio game comes out so if it is lower then the standards of the past IE: Kotor for most console fans then they bash.

Bungie has been going downhill since H1 so bungie fans might not seem cynical now but thats because
1. They have been irate at the horrible dev that is Bungie since 2002 and
2. They all left Reach.

Protip: ME1 and ME2 were both as much of an RPG as each other. ME1 had more adventure strategy elements than ME2 but not more RPG elements. Both of them are also pretty bad RPGs at timeS because the dialogue wheel really prevents you from role playing when you get 3 options that are all just various ways to convey the same response even if it's not the response you want. There are several conversations in ME1 that severely impeded by ability to role play because the wheel limited my response. ME2 had less like that but more instances of automatic dialogue which is just as bad.

1) No multiplayer or co-op. I play to get away from people, not to get along with them!
2) No VS as uber-important character. After Horizon I just don't care about them anymore and I'd hate to see them as anything important and necessary for the third game.
3) No scripted deaths. I want to be able to get my butterflies and rainbows if I put enough effort in the game! Because if not, I see no sense in playing the game at all.

Actually contributing instead of simply just ****ing about the definition of an RPG.

1) A new squad
2) Shoe-horned Multi-player
3) ME1's inventory, I'm fine with an inventory but be innovative.
4) The Reapers defeated by any sort of hidden object or relic or anything other than our choices that we've made through out the trilogy.
5) Saren Clone
6) The VS, Liara, and Wrex not being important and not having tons of screen time.
7) Actual Non-Linear missions (No, Mass Effect did not have these! The only time you we're on a single track that was the only way to go to complete the mission was three very short branching paths that didn't last nearly long enough and two of them were on Noveria.)
8) Scale without large empty rooms/planets.
9) The SR-2 getting destroyed
10) Only 2 endings, 100% perfect and BAD END, there needs to be variation. From the Perfect Ending all the way to Critical Failure.
11) Shepard having to die.
12) Shoehorning Bi/Gay romances. If it was hinted at like Tali then I wouldn't mind but if it's completely out of left field I'll get pissed.
13) Forced Deaths, it works once, after words the drama is gone.
14) The inability to kill of squadmates.

I dont want to see tali's face because i think it will ruin her character.

Dont want to have a mission complete screen after everything. I liked walking back to the normandy after finishing a mission. It felt like more of an ongoing experience, like im there in the game.

Am i the only person that liked ME1's skill system and inventory/upgrade system? I don't really get how in an RPG that is billed as an RPG but incorporating more shooter elements and removing these RPG elements is a good idea, it streamlines things but since when is streamlining synonymous with better?

I don't know these days, i'm not trying to be cynical, I'm just worried that ME is going to suffer a genre identity crisis with the 3rd game if they take it a step further from ME2.

just a side note, I played ME2 and enjoyed it for what it was and thought it was an excellent game, but I still would rather play ME1.

Bungie.net is worse.

No multiplayer
Hopefully fewer bugs
No more crappy AI teamamates; give us better ones
Enable the player to make wrong decisions
Make it so that Paragon decisions can work out worse in the end then Renegade ones, and vice versa.

And for the love of god, make it so that Renegades don't get screwed by the past.

Because none of those are RPG elements.

Honestly if you're going to make a shooter with a large inventory unfortunately the CoD style armory with a bunch of functionally different weapons you can mod to change stats on is really the best option and this coming from someone who hated MW2 and BLOPS. I'd like to see weapon tuning where you could use like say sliders to say make your weapon fire faster etc but at say the trade off of increased heat use or accuracy cost.

I like that the weapon skills were removed purely because it makes no sense for a highly trained special forces soldier to not already have mastery of their weapon. I would like to see ammo back as an upgrade and not a power.

I'd like to see:
VS and Liara as squadmates,
If there is any soloing, let it be optional, please.
And multiplaying options

The entire Battle of the Citadel did this for me, especially when Joker did a mean flip in the SR1 and blasted Sovereign to that victory music.

Talk about owned. We need more of that in ME3. There were a couple scenes in ME2 that really stuck out to me like Normandy SR2 showing for the first time, but that game never really achieved Battle of the Citadel level of epic.

Come on ME3, you can do it.

Having a sense of advancement is an RPG element, getting better at the weapon or weapons I choose to use, advancement is part of an RPG and that is what I was referring to, the skill system that was removed for "ammo ability upgrades as skills" system. Sure you're a SPECTRE and should be able to shoot better than everyone else but by advancing in Pistols or Assault rifles I am becoming even better than the pack. I see those skills as becoming more elite in my weapons of choice, whereas at having no skills in them I am not standing out far from the crowd at all.

btw, Weapons training is a small part of being a SF soldier, survival skills, tactical decision making, squad maneuvers, linguistics, all play a part in a special forces soldier, you can be the best shot in the world but if you're stupid, you're going to get yourself killed.

Also, by the same token, how is becoming more experienced going to allow you to make a bullet cause more fire damage and then at the highest level make enemies around him catch on fire and take fire damage? that's not a skill, that's an UPGRADE.
