I see one of the BioSheep have arrived in defense of their gods, how cute.

Are we back to Haters vs. Sheep, Jerks vs. Biodrones, elitists vs. idiots name calling now?

Charming!

I also notice that dragoonlordz doesnt reprimand the namecallers and trolls that are of the same opinion, but i suppose thats the nature of a hypocrite who made a thread thats a personal attack but doesnt consider it so.

and just to stop from being called a troll i'll give my opinion (underlined just in case lol)
i think DA2 is a great an enjoyable game, not awesome, not bad. my only gripe with it is the usual cloned dungeons, and i would of liked more companion interaction and more fleshed out hawke family, but none of the faults are that bad to ask someone to be removed from their job.

rant over:P

I asked both Bob and Pers to cut it out actually. Now Pers and Night are going at it, I'm getting tired of having to try to contain people rages on this thread. I also question as why this is the only thread you have replied to in your whole history on your profile just to pop in and call me a hypocrite while at the same time not going back through the thread and seeing I asked both sides to cut it out.

If you think I'm attacking him you clearly havent even read my comments in here and are offering up a knee-jerk reaction without actually going back and seeing what it is I am saying. When people talk to me like a grown up I am always saying thankyou for being mature and even if they disgree with everything I say. Couple example.

I'm being a hypocrite? No I don't think so.

I'm not at all blind to the issues of DA 2, however, I still enjoyed playing it through 3 times so far and I feel I got my money's worth. Its not DAO 2, thank god, I already have DAO and Awakenings and if I want to play those then thats what I play, not DA 2.

DA 3 definitely needs to adress the critique they've faced but I'd rather seem them do it with the same senior people that made the first 2 games, they know what went right and what went wrong, they also know that they will not want a repeat of the widespread discontent DA 2 gathered, whether thats justified or not isnt even relevant anymore.

Knowels left so that's not going to happen.
If I were EA I'd offer the guy the moon if they were serious about the DA IP.

Laidlaw , well as we know DA2 was his baby and the design was his vision. I'd want him as far away from DA3 as possible. His conclusion if left alone is going to be more streamlining. In the interviews he mentions how DA2 could have been streamlined even more.

There are a lot of potentionally good RPGs coming soon. A lot depends on how they do.

This is what the OP initially wrote;

I personally think Mike Laidlaw should not be in charge of it, I mean maybe moving him to manage a different project and put in charge someone who actually loves RPG's not Button=Awesome. Firing him is the dumbest thing I have heard in while, no sense at all really in that so that's irrelvant imho and don't really want it brought up much in this topic. But if he heads up the design of DA3 I do think that will be a bad move.

Yeah because Brent Knowles is the only one that can make a good RPG or a worthy successor to DAO, right? Come on, get real and Brent quit because he'd had enough of the constant stress and pressure he was under, that too you can find on his blog. Let the guy be, please.

You're assuming things you have absolutely zero knowledge on and as a result you draw conclusions which are based on air. Laidlaw was never left alone, he answers to people and he does not make decisions in a vacuum, apparently none of you have ever handled or been close to important large business projects, well, I have and he's below the project leader even.

Yeah, there's some nice games coming this year, and no, I dont think much depends on them for Bioware, at least, their plans for the next 2 years are already drawn I expect, I also dont see why other companies IP would be of any interest to EA/Bioware. DAO proved RPG's can sell well, the trick is now to get results like that without the 4.5 year dev period.

If the people that love DA2, love him that much and the direction he has taken DA series towards then surely they wouldn't mind he takes over the ME3 project. Or is it they just love him when in charge of DA series and not their favorite ME.

I do get the impression he isn't a RPG fan, doesn't like RPG genre in general finds it a bit too complicated and not action packed enough for him and would be much happier heading a project that is more action or adventure orientated.

I don't hate Mike I just think he isn't a great idea to head up the next DA project. I'm not asking for Brent back either really mainly because I don't think he would ever come back to Bioware. But at least could we have someone with as much love for the series as most of us here. Even if means giving John or Chris a go at managing the next title I think would be a better solution.

The design of DA2 isn't the problem. The fact that it was rushed, is.

way too much name-calling and insulting going on here. If you wish to continue the discussion, and can do so without all the internet buzzwords, please restart the thread. Thank you.

End of line.
