Maze, seriously? You have a map, how can it possibly be a maze? The same exits always lead to the same place, you have a map.. oh, did I mention you have a map?

Seriously?

@SheffSteel:

I understand the non-linearity issue, although that can as easily be seen as a plus.

As for your other points, I don't see how the other dungeon crawls were any better. Rather worse, especially in regards to repitition (which of course is always part of such rpgs).

I for one loved the Fade (or Beyond) level, and was slightly disappointed there wasn't a third Fade realm (counting the mage origin as the first). I wanted to explore the Black City.

The other dungeons aren't any better. Really, the dungeons are the weakest parts of the game, in my mind. Hallway that ends in a room with 5-10 enemies that connects to a hallway that ends in a room with 5-10 enemies that connects to a hallway that ends in a room that forces a conversation that ends with 5-10 enemies appearing from nowhere and surrounding you repeat 4 times isn't exactly the height of entertainment.

Am i supposed to read a codec?

no, that's... no...

the codec is there for no reason whatsoever, possibly even for misdirection. and besides everyone knows that text melts away and changes in your dreams. never trust the codec, run away from teh codec. the codec is a lie, there is no codec, no forum, no solution, no sleep I've had for the last 18 or so hours

***spoilers?***

dude you have to kill bosses to get other transformation foms. however you can also get the burning man by taking all you clothes off and dancing around an art-car. you can go to anywhere you want (iron doors and flames) just need to kill a boss guy to get their fade form (kinda like the mouse).

I think its the blight nightmare you should do first? It's like supposed to be clock-wise or something (you probably started left to right like you were reading).

use your rat form (totaly should've been a white rabbit, for monty python and alice in wonderlands sake!) to go though holes, buring man to get people to take their clothes off and giant robot form to defeat Char 'the red comet' anzable.

To the OP: Just slog through the level to access the rest of the awesome DA experience, the last stages of the Fade section are briefer and more role-playing focused (after you get through the six or so huge mazes).

My sentiments exactly. Though, I would hardly consider the Fade quest a "maze" its my least favorite spot in the game.

The fade level and I have had a strange relationship. At first I hated it, coz I was just wandering aimlessly for no real reason with no end in sight. Then I got my second form and things started to be more fun. And after I completed it I'd have to admit, its my favourite part off the game.

How do you get out of here? I've been in this place far longer than I want to be.   I want to enjoy the rest of the game and just forget this part ever happened.

To complete the fade you need to obtain several different forms for different tasks. One to go through the mouse holes, one to walk through fire, one to use spirit doors, and one to open the massive doors. They are unlocked on different islands and you use each to unlock the next. Its easier to just get it over with then waiting for someone to walk you though it.

I tried but I can't find anything. I have mouse form and spirit form but I have no idea where to go now.

Can you walk me through?

Like what am I supposed to do in each of the named zone?

To complete the fade you need to win a key fight in each nexus.

If you can't find the next form on the island you're currently on using the forms you already have, try switching to another island.

Also, you need to go absolutely everywhere you can, otherwise you will miss out on permanent ability increases.

Just do what I did, just keep exploring the various islands counter clockwise. Once you have explored what you can with your available forms, move to the next. Once you get thrid form, reverse direction and get the fourth form. After that you can go wherever you like and defeat all the mino bosses to unlock the various islands and get access to your party members and the main boss in the middle himself.

Maybe if you actually tried working through it yourself would be more fun and rewarding than coming back to the forums every 2 minutes asking for people to hold you hand and walk you through it.

I know it's a bit mean but I agree. I see this kind of thing all the time on the net, people asking "how do I" questions about games etc when it is clear they spent mere minutes on it before posting. When I first started playing 360 games I had one of the all time scores in survival mode for Dead Rising and I would get a ton of friend requests, followed by the same questions. They all boiled down to "I can't be bothered to figure it out on my own or spend the time that you clearly did to become skilled at the game so I'd like you to tell me what to do so it's easy and quick for me. I can't be bothered." I don't know if it's a generational thing or an ADD thing or whatever, but I find this extremely rude and also kind of pointless. Isn't figuring things out on your own part of the fun of playing a game? I remember playing "Darkseed" way, way back and actually having to call a helpline to ask how to progress toward the end because I had gotten completely stuck and getting one of the makers of the game on the phone, lol. He gave me the one hint I needed and back I went. Things have changed so much now, there are walktrhoughs and FAQs etc for virtually every game that is released on the net within days of the game coming out. And still I see these posts from people in a rush that seem to want to blast through a game in record time. I don't get it. When gamers say things like "I beat that game is 6 hours" I want to ask "Did you have any fun? Did you get your money's worth of entertainment, racing through the game to get to the end?" I don't get it.

What? :D

I disliked the idea of the Fade when I first hit it in the tower, but now it's one of my favorite parts. The forms are really fun, especially the one that lets you knock down doors, and it's by far and away the part of the game with the best... "loot." Let's call it "loot." (I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't done it). I went Mage Circle first on my second playthrough just to get to the Fade part for the "loot."

I play a two handed warrior, not a shape shifter mage. If I was a mage I could understand having to deal with the fade but i didn't play as a mage. WTF

I found the boss rather easy once I found out its weakness to ******** effects and ********* effects. Pretty much owned his ass. But it was a fun fight nonetheless. Make sure to rotate the ******** effects and the ********* effects for maximum chain effect.

Doesn't matter what class you are, you get 4 different shapes to play with regardless.

I'm so sorry too shatter your ego mr.10yearold boy. But your impressive level went to zero when you called a circle a maze.

The idiocy of some people trying to make an argument because he called it a maze. Who cares what he calls it? It doesn't make his argument any weaker if he calls it a maze.

And you know what? It is a maze. Such is the nature of the mouse hole puzzle. It's a maze. You can call it whatever the hell you want in your flawed elitism, but it's a maze. In fact, the mouse hole part is the definition of maze.

So really, if you have nothing to add besides arguing semantics and cliched age insults, i'd rather you never post again or i'll help you never post again by reporting you. Your choice.

The Fade sucked. You can argue maze/not a maze/maze/not a maze all you want. It just means you don't own a dictionary.
