I normally don't go with aggressive personality with my player character, mostly because the old aggrassive dialog options are just being an **** or right out offensive. But this time I tried out an aggressive male mage, and I have to say, aggressive Hawke is really cool to play, the dialog are very well written. It's not rude, or offensive (even sometimes the choices might seem to be). It delivers a very cut to the point, no BS personality, which I find myself totally in love with!

And aggressive Hawke has some of the best conversation with compainions. I was rivalmance Fenris, hottest romance ever.

I couldn't agree more! You summed it up pretty well.

I'm really glad "red" personality didn't end up being just an awful renegade type - that was just painful to play in ME2 I thought. I cringed so many times.

I agree. To me at least, aggressive Hawke comes across as much more practical than the other personalities. Of course, I also feel that way about renegade Shepard, so I'm not surprised that I prefer the no BS personality.

I've almost always been on the "peaceful" side why playing PRGs. I'm pretty happy with the "purple" sarcastic personality for the first 2 play through, and decided to try red aggressive for once. And I was pleasantly surprised. This is a character I'd want to romance, LOL, the cold blooded, mostly quiet, but when he start speaking everyone listen (it's not like people don't listen when I'm on green/purple choices, it's just the red choices really have that effect).

Very well done! I just hope the option is a bit less "misleading". Most of the read options sounds pretty rude, but the dialog is not so.

Aggressive Hawke can be rather offensive :P
But there were other instances where I felt s/he was more direct than violent, which made me very happy!

The direct options had some fantastic dialogue. I love to mix up the responses. :^)

I loved it when I chose an aggressive response to the demon in the Deep Roads. He punches its face.

Man, that was an awesome moment for sure. I mean he punches a demon, made of rock., in the face.

I mix it up a little, but I have never played as anything but a mostly aggressive/direct Hawke. It just seems so fitting. Mixed with sarcasm from time to time is cool, but every now and then, even a direct Hawke has to be nice to his friends.

And I just love being highly aggressive when talking to Anders... heh... enraging him just makes my day.

I found the fist options to be generally pretty douchey, but the gavel options were usually very in-line with my character's personality.

Ooh, I love some of the aggressive/direct choices. Even on playthroughs with another dominant personality, there's just some aggressive options that I can't resist taking.

Especially with Carver. Some of the best aggressive lines are with Carver, IMO. Especially in that argument you have with him near the beginning. Sibling rivalry FTW.

I chose all the red options for my Lady Hawke mage playthrough and it was pretty hilarious. Though I did feel like a dick most of the time cos I chose all the evil "kill him/her" options cos I wanted to play as an evil ****.

Seeing my skinny mage lady punch the **** out of a Qunari is pretty badass. :D

I'm almost finished with my aggressive/"evil" playthrough, and honestly I wouldn't do it again - I just can't see why ANY of my companions would like me! I'm a total b!tch to everyone, yet Varric still calls me his friend in conversations with Cassandra? What? I don't even...

The one part I really did love was in the quest to rescue Feynriel from the slavers. The one slaver has him at knifepoint and says something to the effect of "Don't move!", and your unique aggressive response gives the most epic line/cutscene in the entire game. "Oh, I don't need to take another step... /DAGGER THROW". Yea, I orgasm'd a little... :D

I just recently started my aggressive female Hawke, and decided I was gonna go after Fenris for my romance target, but being that I'm a rogue, the whiny little b**** Anders is really my only option for a healing character. I WAS gonna go for a Fenris rival-mance, but frankly, I just love pissing Anders off, so it's just easier to go anti-mage in a lot of conversations, and make Fenris happy, and Anders upset. >:)

just had a playthrough with "aggressive" female mage. certainly a change than my 1st nice guy playthrough. But its kinda annoying when you choose aggressive response and then do some investigate dialog branch the tone changes:

Hawke: Lady do I look like i need a dress?!! (no BS tone)
NPC: Apologize
Hawke: Soo, tell me about this Huon dude (nice tone)

Breaks immersion :(

Just to add: Aggressive!Hawke really fits in well with the Miserable Bastards Club. Hawke, Fenris, Anders, and Fuzzbutt (Dog) touring the countryside crabbing at each other. Glorious.

There was one line for aggressive Hawke that bothered me and that was after sending Feynriel to the Circle Hawke goes back to Arianni and says something like "I sent your son off to the circle. Pay up." My Hawke wasn't doing it for the money, he thought Feynriel was dangerous and needed to be dealt with.

Otherwise I generally enjoyed it, and the decisive/gavel options were especially neat.

I have to admit, it was totally in character and made me laugh (I'm horrible, I know) when my mercenary aggressive Hawke said that last night, but then he was having to tiptoe around his sister rather carefully when it came to mage rights vs money.  He loves Bethany and will do anything to protect her, but anyone else can, as he commented about the magistrate, 'sod off'.

I really didn't think I'd be having as much fun playing this character as I am doing.  Mind you, my first Hawke ended up becoming a raging alcoholic* because she couldn't save everyone, so it's a nice contrast.

*According to my son I took the RP too far when he found me buying her drinks in the Hanged Man for the umpteenth time.

At least there wasn't a "Hey everyone! This store discriminates against mages!"

Sometimes aggressiveHawke is actually more appropriate/sensitive than sarcasticHawke too, like when you hand the bones over to Emeric or when Saemus is murdered.

I think most of the time, aggressive Hawke doens't really care how other people think of him. He get the job done, and he doesn't "coddle" people's feeling. If you kind of think of him from this perspective, a lot of his conversation choices start to fit into the personality and situation. I kind of pictured him as Marcus Fenix from Gears of War, and yeah.... it's nice to be able to build up a character like that.

I liked the "decisive" gavel options the best. The "aggressive" fist options were sometimes too punchy for me--my Hawke doesn't take people's crap, but she isn't a jerk about it. But I do like how the aggressive personality Hawke is an absolute badass.

I agree, I like aggressive Hawke. I only use the option when appropriate. Well, appropriate by my standards.
