ive noticed that in both the normandy SR-1 and SR-2 near the mian guns control room there are cryo beds
usually in science fiction the concept of cryo sleep is used a lot as a means of preserving age and resource mangment on long space flights

but whats the point if there are already normal beds in crew quarters and space travel is faster

Those aren't Cryo Beds, those are sleeper pods. The crew quarters can't fit everyone.

Sleeper pods are essentially the economy bedrooms. They service the crewmen on the lower end of the payroll.
