I don't even know if Isabela, Varric or Bethany even get up in anyone's face. Carver doesn't really pull off much, so I've heard. And Merrill? She calls you a shemlen if you screw her over. That's about as bad as it gets.

Anders is just a douche. He owns the top 3 most douchie lines in the game, and he's scattered among the top 10 along with the other two.

Does she? I thought that was a bug! Bugger. 

Regardless, he doesn't always say that line either. Last playthrough I came down the mountain and he said something like "You can turn your life around now and stop using blood magic." I can't remember the exact quote, but the horrific nastiness of the "You should be dead instead of Marethari" line didn't surface.

To be fair, it kinda was my Hawke's fault.

He should have just been over all better

When people feel pain, they sometimes lash out. That's what Carver did and that's what Leandra did in blaming Hawke for the other sibling's death. Carver and Hawke shared the same pain, losing a sibling. The only difference is Carver lashed out and Hawke didn't (or wasn't given an opportunity to), but I don't think that reflects on the quality of a person. Different people deal with pain differently.

I don't think we can say Anders saying "maybe we'll find more than bones this time" is lashing out because he's feeling the same pain...

I still like Anders. Plus it's not like saying tactless things is the worst thing he did...

I haven't gotten past the beginning of Act I with Carver, which is why I said "maybe?" before mentioning him

To be fair to Anders in regards to that line, a lot of the companions had very strange lines during "All That Remains".  From taking various companions through that quest, it seems like they all have a flippant line that pops up at some point.

I think no one have expected that the murder is doing necromancy the sinister stuff ever in his hideout. We can interpret his line, "maybe we'll find more than bones this time," to say, he simply hopes to find some evidences that will lead to the solution/murderer of the white-lilies from the suitor case.

Fenris is kind of a hypocrite since the Alone quest reveals that Fenris' family has mage genes and his sister is a mage so he's kind of a hypocrite since he is part of a family of mages yet hates mages.

To be fair, Fenris had no knowledge of Varania's status as a mage because he didn't even realize they were siblings until Hadriana told him.

What does Fenris's sister being a mage have to do with his thoughts on magic? The two are unrelated. He would be a hypocrite if he used magic (gonna say this one more time, his powers are not the same are true magic) and hated mages.

For the record, I agree with this.  The only companion I have no ill will towards is Varric.  There's something about all of them that rubs me the wrong way, to varying degrees.  But the reason that Anders gets so much attention is because he has more impact on the story than anybody else...

If you take Fenris into the Fade and he turns on you, and you use a red "violent" response to him turning on you he says something to the effect of you being a hypocrite. Then Anders says something along the lines of "No YOU are" (and in Anders' voice too, which is kinda funny, indicating that there's more of him there than you think when Justice first pops up). It's also kind of funny, because the two of them are falling over each other to call the other one a hypocrite, and here we are arguing over which of them is.

They're just a coupla teenage girls with a massive crush on Hawke. I half expect them to burst into slap fights in the middle of hightown. Hairpulling and hijinks ensue.

If you encourage Emile to 'run away' and then try to lie to Meredith about it (by saying he's dead), Meredith will comment that it's strange they did not find his body, at which point Fenris rats Hawke out by confirming that Emile is still very much alive.

Sorry to contribute to the off topic-ness, but waaaat? He's with me every run and this has never happened. I'm going to have to try harder to keep some people at neutral just to see all this stuff I'm missing out on.

Exactly. Which is what makes Anders' "you're a jealous hyporite!!1" declaration completely stupid.

Lol, I just reloaded an old save to do this. It's pretty funny that it is Ander's voice and not Justice's. The 2 just can't resist fighting.

Did you get the banter between Fenris and Merrill about the Keeper's death?  I thought that actually topped Anders' line in terms of ***hole-ness.  Anders said one line (and if you have Fenris at the time Fenris turns to Anders and says something to th effect of "For once we agree,") but Fenris goes and turns it into a whole conversation.  Nevermind how Fenris trashes Merrill after what happened with Pol.  Really, you can't call Anders on being a jerk to Merrill and insist Fenris is better about that.  They're equally bad.
