Hello, everyone.
When my character stepped onto Normandy SR-2 for the first time and I tried to enter map section in order to go to Omega station and the game crashed. The screen went black with gray Xbox 360 Y X B A buttons on the bottom of the screen and I’m using PC. I went back to my last manual save and went through the gameplay again and it still crash when I opened the map section on Normandy for the first time.
Can anyone help me with that?
 
Here’s my detail:
I purchased digital download from Gamestop - and I patched it to version 1.02. I have Arrival, Shadow Broker, and Firepower Pack installed.

Physical Memory: 3.24GB
Display Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 5870 with 2GB memory

Okay, I uninstalled the game and re-download it and re-installed it. It still crash at very same spot. Does it mean Gamestop's digital download is corrupted?

That is very odd.

Did you re-install the DLC as well before trying it again? If so, did you re-download the DLC as well or use the same installers as before?

DLC installs seem to mess up ME2 as a whole now and again, so I'd try re-installing just the base game without any DLC if you didn't just do that. If you can get to the galaxy map fine that way, delete all your old DLC installers and download new ones. (DLC isn't really usable until you can access the galaxy map anyway, I think armor sets are the only things available til then.)

When I reinstalled the game, I did not install any DLC - just the game patch. The problem still same. One thing I don't understand why I'm seeing Xbox 360 buttons when it crashed. I'll post YouTube of what it look like when it crashed.

Okay, updated: I decided to buy Mass Effect 2 CD off from eBay and I installed the game today and I'm able to open Galaxy Map without crashing game. I'll say that the Gamestop's Mass Effect 2 Digital Download is corrupted.

So, avoid buying digital dowlonad from Game Stop (through Mass Effect 1 worked perfectly).

i just had that happen i bought the collectors edition, from gamestop, a year and a half ago, it is updated to 1.02, has shadowbroker, arrival, genesis, appearance 1&2. i uninstalled & reinstalled 3 times same thing happens, even when i reload previous games, every time i use the galaxy map i get x-box buttons and then crash

When you uninstalled did you tell it to keep saves and settings, just saves, just settings, or none?

Try copying your saves to another location, do a complete uninstall, and then reinstall, keeping none of your pervious settings.

all of my saves were me1 imports i can do them again, and no i kept my settings
