Having played 2 before Origins, I was able to unbaisedly play all through 2. Now Ive spent the past 2 weeks playing through Origins, Awakening and I realized how much I prefered Anders in 2 to how he was in Awakening. Having known him as a more dark character then the light-hearted circle escapee of Awakenings I rather disliked running around with him and hearing all his snark jokes and atempts to hit on Velanna. To me he reminded me to much of an over the top Alistair without any sense of duty. I love Alistair to death, but Anders just got on my nerves a bit.

That doesn't mean you "unbiasedly played", it means you just played without Origins.
He's pretty dark in his own way in Awakening, I think. He's just not... as moody on it? Or, rather, he's deflecting like a mofo.
Mofo's, apparently, being very good deflectors.

I hated him in DA2, he was such a whiney little selfish ******. I'm serious, every second he was telling my romanced character "we shouldn't do this, we could be hunted, we'll never have a normal life!" Even in the midst of a tender moment he's droning on and on about it, with those off-color eyebrows of his (really, black eyebrows and blonde hair? does he bleach?) knitting together as if he were going to burst into tears any moment. I truly hated him by the end of it, and it was so sad; I loved his lightheartedness and snarky sense of humor. His whole finishing "Can I tell you you're all right? You're all right!" conversation at the end of DA:Awakenings really sold me on him. I had him around almost the whole time.
You ruined him, Justice. I'm coming to the fade to find your ****.
