For the voice I'd say sarcasting was best also. But I also think that what those responses actually SAY is often totally retarded or just doesn't belong in the game.

Definitely sarcastic. It just gives her a whole lot more personality. But of course, personally I feel that the best experience comes from reacting to each situation differently. Mostly sarcastic's good, but there are some dialogues where there's good reason to be "good" or aggressive as it fits the story much better.

Hardly. My only problem with the sarcastic lines is that sometimes they're inconsistent. For example when someone has died or otherwise there's great drama: In one instance the sarcastic response just comes off as a sympathetic sad attempt at a joke, not offensive at all but just something a nervous character would say to try to cheer someone up. In another, it just comes off as a completely tasteless insult rude enough to create a lifetime enemy for good reason.

But generally it works very well. And when it doesn't, it takes like 2 seconds to load the game so no harm done.

I have a question since I've just started af female Hawke run. I prefer to mix up the choices, how much must I stay within a given direction (e.g. sarcastic) for it to alter her voice and choice of words?

I think 6 in a row but that becomes harder to change after one set if my memory serves. I usually come up with fixed personality from Lothering.

On topic,

As I don't like female Hawke voice I find red path makes it more bearable.

I believe you start off by picking a specific one at the start of each act. Each time you choose it, it will take two non-primary personality type choices to change the personality. So, for example:

Start of Act 1. Choose sarcastic twice. Choosing direct or diplomatic four times will switch the personality. The game will keep tally of how many diplomatic/sarcastic/direct choices you make over the course of the act.

Aggressive by far, once in a while sarcastic, only to be b****y. She's so insulting I love it.

I adored sarcastic, with occasional use of diplomatic and agressive when situation called for it.

I also played almost a full playthrough with dominant diplomatic personality and while the voice work was great, I found the character behaviour to be too sugary nice. It's fine for some conversations, but I missed being able to snark at people or call out their bull**** on the occasion.

Agressive choices have some amazing dialog paths. Using them don't make you automatically 'evil' or 'renegade', on ocasion I found Marian who used agressive choices portray a lot of depths behind the tough exterior (try full blown up rivalry+agressive dialog shouting match with Carver and she'll talk how she keeps every death on her hands with her... and the voice is just perfect for the moment). There are quite a few examples like this, though if you ONLY use agressive, some of her actions are kind of .... douchy.

I love aggressive FemHawke. She's such a little badass, without being as b***chy as Renegade FemShep.

You get to punch a demon in the face as an agressive hawke.

Sarcastic and snarky is good at times but sometimes i think its a bit misplaced and not really funny.

I've done the diplomatic and snark playthroughs. I liked both, but the snark had a bigger fun factor. Hawke said a couple wince-worthy things, but mostly it was a hoot.

I prefer to keep diplomatic as my dominant tone, with a lot of sarcastic mixed in. Full sarcastic only works if you want Hawke to be a bit of a jerk. Angry Hawke is pretty badass, but you don't want to use it all the time.

My first run through was mostly diplomatic, with some snark thrown in with certain characters in certain situations. Jo Wyatt did a superb job whatever your choice I feel. On my final run through with Fem Hawke, I will again choose diplomatic mixed with occasional snark, as it is who I am in real life as well.

Sarcastic, hands down.

I didn't care much for lady hawke until I went with that personality. Now she's my favourite :P

Definitely have aggressive lady hawke up lined up next.

I have done one mostly snarky-quite diplomatic mage and now I'm on a very bad ass bossy warrior. My diplomatic rogue is currently taking a bit of a break, her romance with Fenris wasn't going to well so we backed up a little. I guess I prefer the snarky one but the thing I like the most is how different the game feels when I change the dominant tone. I didn't even notice it at first. Gahh... now I cannot remember any of the fun things I observed earlier when playing, haven't punched any demons yet but I did do the murder-knife-scene with the magisters order. For me that is tons of replay value. Snarky is wonderful but being able to choose is what makes it great for me.

I never had a Hawke do just one voice yet. The responses always were dependent to who was being spoken to.

Always nice to Bethany. Works for her.
Always mean to Carver. Works for him.
Always mean to Anders. Because he deserves it.

Then the others all got different ones through playthroughs. Although never tried mean to Aveline but have done nice and comical playthroughs with her.

I have played a mean mage (because who can be a happy mage in Kirkwall?), a sarcastic rogue (because they just seem to mesh well) and am now playing a nice warrior. My fourth playthrough will be more like what you have done. I will actually listen really closely to what people are saying and respond to that rather then just pick a tone regardless.

did diplomatic and aggressive also started a sarcastic fem hawke but i'm still on act 2 on that playthrough. i enjoy the voice tone (how she sounds) in diplomatic more for some reason but i find the aggressive options to be the best.

I was pure wit and sarcasm but occasionally would throw in either nice options of aggressive options depending on the situation.  For instance, in the "Magistrate's Orders" quest, I used no wit whatsoever with the guy and was purely aggressive.  I only showed any compassion for the poor elf girl.

But witty Hawke, she has some of the most priceless lines......even during non-dialogue wheel speech.  I like the line she says about the Wounded Coast...."Injured Cliffs, Massive Head Trauma Bay" priceless.  It is also dialogue that sits well with Varric and Isabela if you like them

But yes, sarcasm and wit Image IPB

Yeah the sarcastic femhawk was overall the best. Just the tone of her voice and how in certain situations its like shes some where else in her own head, heh.

The part with Templar Emeric in darktown had me cracking up. xD

I think theres a twist to that part, in my current playthrough Im using a 2-H warrior with the sarcastic personalty when Varric said:

"What are our option?"
I said
"HAWKE SMASH!!!"

.......Right, like I said maybe an Agressive Hawke can do that no matter the class I think but a Warrior can do that regardless of your character probably much like when your a Rogue you can use the Murder Knife on that slave to save the mage kid.

I sort of like to pick a general personality and motivation for my character to start, and mix up responses based on that, rather than stick to one pure personality. My main playthrough was a female Rogue that I decided was a stubborn thrillseeker, which ended up with me sticking to mostly sarcastic and aggressive lines, but occasionally diplomatic lines (particularly if she was talking to a character she really liked, like her sister). My current playthrough I'm trying to do an outgoing and naive mage, which is a little bit tougher to pull off--Hawke doesn't do "naive" well, even the diplomatic/"nice" personality seems pretty experienced and knowledgeable. I'm adjusting the definition of "naive" at this point to mean "wants to believe the best in people no matter what side they're on" which is working a bit better.

I have to admit, though, I loved playing as Snarky fem!Hawke. The VA is great with humor and some of the bonus lines with that personality are great. I can't resist choosing a few snarky lines, even with my supposedly mostly-diplomatic mage...

+1 for Sarcastic Lady Hawke.

I enjoyed playing a Renegade Femshep in ME/2, but i tried out Snarky Fem hawke, and the voice acting was just amazing. I also love the fact BW has stacking dialogue choices, and even Hawkes cutscene dialogue and party banter will be similar to your frequent dialogue choices. It is quite fun running around being a smartass to everyone.

So far, I like the aggressive tone, but when does lady hawke make the comment of 'crawling in a bush and die'? If it's with the sarcastic path, when does she say it?
