Uh, Hawke. Right. Sarcastic Hawke had a few eyebrow raising moments. Especially early in the game when I was under the mistaken belief that the diamond charm option would lead to a comment that was actually charming. Like after your sibling dies and you end up saying something cringeworthy and entirely inappropriate.

Yeah, I thought one element of being "charming" was that you avoided making cringeworthy, insensitive comments.

I had a few but one of the ones that really sticks out ot me is if you're playing a mage, you just did Enemies Among Us and you go to talk to Cullen in the Gallows. One of the responses is paraphrased as, "Hey! I'm a mage!" ... I saw that and thought wtf kind of moron do you have to be to say anything even remotely like that to a knight-captain of the Templars when you're an apostate. I mean, really?

Turns out what you actually say is, "I have some 'friends' who are mages and they're not bad." ... err ok. Sure that's what that paraphrase meant. Yeah.

LOL. Exactly my experience at that point. I suspect they just changed the paraphrase for a mage Hawke and left the actual line as generic as possible. As for why they would do such things except to intentionally confuse the player, that escapes me.

Dear lord, half of the "funny" options were like this.  They weren't even funny!  Just mean.  There was one particularly bad one but I don't remember anything about it other than the fact that I shouted "Jesus, no!" at the screen and reloaded at the first possible opportunity.

Is it.....the one where the viscount's kneeling there holding his freshly murdered son and "funny" Hawke said something that was O_O-worthy?

No, I knew better than to pick that option.  I honestly don't remember where that other one was. :(

That one with the Viscount was a winner though.  Good God, I can't tell if funny!Hawke is completely socially inept or a total sociopath.

One of the first companion quests with Anders has an option to either flirt, flirt or break his heart. One of the flirt options should have been changed to neutral, I did not want to go out of my way to shoot him down cold and instead politely tell him his confession of loving another man and having a broken heart for it is indeed sad but not something I personally need to know.
