We need a Griffon as an ally, guys. I'm telling you, giving us a choice between a Mabari Warhound or a Griffon would be a sweet idea! It could be one of the few remaining members of its species!
that'd be cool, there could be like a secret/unknown village (sorta like Haven was in DA origins since no one really knew about it, but without the cultists and such of course) that has kept their kind alive and breeds the only remaining griffons

I want a Saarabas. I mean, how can you not like a Mage who would probably subject himself to insane self-discipline, who'd probably kill himself the first time he lost control/gave in?
that'd be a nice idea too, itd be nice to have another qunari companion again especially a Saarabas, would be something new and it'd be awesome

I just want their spells, i don't know what they Qunari are teaching them but my mage wouldn't mind having a few of those spells.

I'd say Cassandra and Bethany would be the most likely to return, and then Varric if they want him to do the story again. Of course Dwarf-Shale is still out there somewhere, surprised she didn't show up in DA2, if she isn't in any of the DLC then she should definitely be back in DA3. I'm kind've torn on Leliana, on the one hand she's my Warden's true love and they should be together forever, but on the other hand she's so awesome if I had the chance to romance her with a new character I'd still do it in a heartbeat. I imagine we'll probably end up working 'for' Leliana instead of 'with' her anyway, teaming with Cassandra instead. Definitely a lot of great characters for them to choose from!
Lol, Bethany dies if your a mage, champ...

Cassandra: (Probably a 2H Warrior Character)
I just can't see Cassandra being anything other than a 1h shield warrior... Sorry, 2h swords are too badass and manly for female characters. It will just make them lose their sexappeal!

All of these I would bet on, especially as many other have suggested that Hawke will be a potential companion. I don't know if I buy DA3 being in Orlais, though. There are just as many hints about other lands as Orlais:
- Par Vollen
- Tevinter
I would actually think that DLC may resolve the Orlais - Ferelden - Free Marches situation before we even get to DA3. All of these seem at least as likely as Orlais to me. Tevinter receives more discussion than anything else in the entire game. It would also make sense as reversing a ton of the tropes of the series (mages running everything, male chantry members, etc.) If any of those happened, it's all up for grabs who or what could be a companion. And remember, in certain endings for DAO Shale and Wynne head off to Tevinter.
If Tevinter is a central part, I can promise you you'll atleast see Fenris again. And Maybe also Justice, in some form. Also, Wynne showed up in Awakening as a member of the court. Giving you a quest. Shale Might show up, it would'nt be totally stupid.

did not like his Anti mage attitude at all
and Aveline is just too irritating and nagging at everyone in your party not fun what so ever
best to have Alistair for Tank but i don't think it will happen as he is probably busy Playing with Anora Breeding little Alistairs (Maker Help us
as for companions to appear in DA3 i expect :
Morrigan to play a major role and probably will be party member but if you romaced her in Origins you can't in DA3
Cassandra / Leliana - sort of obvious
Varric - One of the best characters around (he needs to be there)
Anders - if he survived (but please get rid of the Justice merger, Anders needs to get his sence of humor back)
Bethany / Carver - depending on if they are Warden / Templar /with the Circle or Dead
(isa)Bella - she's just too much fun to have around
Merrill - a Bloodmage always comes in handy
The one stable element (or two as you will) Bodahn / Sandal - Who can do without the trusty merchant duo
maybe Velana and the Dwarf with the Explosives at the Keep(don't know his name right now) since he is hiding from the Qunari
Sten - We need the man of action and little words back
Shale - Either as a Gollem Instead of Aveline "the female battering ram"(like (isa)Bella calls her) or the Dwarf she was (depending on your decision in Origins )
the trusty Puppy or a Griffon(doubt full)
and i want to be able to turn into a Dragon or have one to fly aound on if i can't get a Griffon

1) Zevran (didn't even let him wake up)
2) Wynne (annulled the Ferelden Circle)
3) Shale (when I sided with Branka)
4) Nathaniel (had him executed at the beginning of Awakening)
5) Velanna (killed her when I confronted her)
6) Morrigan (in Witch Hunt)
The main reason I did all of these and pretty much killed every major character I had a choice to (except Leli in that situation) was to see if there's any possible way I can carry that playthrough forward without Bioware being forced to contradict it or retcon it to have some sort of consistent plot (I'm thinking they have to) and to also make peace with the contradiction and retcons that will inevitably happen with my other characters.
Therefore I'm okay with whatever after getting that out of my system.

Bevin
Connor (well - unless he is dead)
That boy from the bridge in Lothering
One of Goldanna's children (a daughter I should think)
Wynne's Son
Morrigan's child (God baby or not)
And Cullen

You raise a valid point. By the time we get to the end of DA2, it is much later than DAO and DAA. Everyone is going to have aged and all the children will be adults. Except the Godbaby, but who knows maybe DA3 will be five or ten years after DA2! I half expect that. We'll start where the War with Orlais has been going on for years and years, maybe at that point having engulfed all of Thedas.

Pretty close to what I've been thinking. Or war with Par Vollen
And Wardens, Griffons and Cullen thrown in.

I think very few companions if any at all will be reuse of old companions. All those, who can die and those from DLC shouldn't really the possible companions. The only I can really see as realistic is Cassandra, since the story seems to continue along the lines of the trouble brought forth in DA2.

And I heared that Cassandra would have a big role in DA3 so maybe she could be one...
