Always. I love 2H Warrior with Reaver and Templar... I've only played as a warrior twice, but both times I skipped Berserker... seemed like too much stamina management from the skill descriptions. Not only is Templar an awesome spec to rp (especially if you find the Templar armor), the skills are pretty useful. +10% damage to spellcasters and demons is great, since about 50% of all creatures fit into this category (hyperbole, but still...). You have a lot of silence abilities that work on pretty much everyone, including bosses, and on top of all that, Holy Smite is a great AoE attack to use with Whirlwind. What's not to like?

I didon my SnS warrior, Silence shuts down all talents, not just spells., it adds a lot to your survivability if the enemy can't use their best moves.

Never used it in Origins as I was against Templars but after playing DA2 I'm against Mages... well Kirkwalls mages anyway

So I picked Templar one this time round, I do love the templar armour altho its now only 4 stars so I'm on something else now Centurian Armour I think...

I also made my 2H warrior a templar. With story reasons first then I realized it is so fun to play. Paired it with Berserker but later realized Berserker ain't my thing. Only got one toggle from berserker but full tree of Templar.

Aye in Origins I always took Berserker but Its not too Appealing in DA2... So Reaver/Templar Odd 2 to put together... but hey it worked out better (Since Reaver has +AtkSpeed for 10sec After a Kill its Magic on Hard :D

I've always used the Templar option in Dragon Age for warriors, especially now for my Templar sympathiser warriors. And, with the absence of a perhaps rather obvious class possibility for warrior Hawke (Champion?), it's the only advanced specialisation I 'like' (or rather that I consider fits my characters), and thus the only one I use.

I don't. Going templar is counter-intuitive to doing the most damage possible.

Righteous Strike is useless
Annulment is bugged in that it causes Haste (mage spell) to fall off early. That and most damage you receive isn't magical to begin with.

That leaves me with Cleanse, Silence, and Holy Smite. Cleanse has very few applications as caster buffs and debuffs are few and far inbetween, silence is good for sure and Holy Smite can certainly be useful as there are many demon encounters in the game but they require lots of upgrades to get.

The problem with Templar is that there aren't enough Boss level encounters were magic damage matters. The few Arcane Horrors and Desire Demons you come across in end game trash are quickly dispatched just as easily by Barrage as they are by Silence/Righteous Strike. And, as Atmosfear stated, beneficial buffs like Haste are mitigated by your own magic resistant giving even further disincentive for going Templar.

I did like upgraded Holy Smite AOE stun and the extra damage on shades, etc., but its no where near as good damage wise was Beserk/Barrage. If magic resist was actually *necessary* for Act III survival (or at least frequently useful), then Templar would probably be as good as Berserker.

There aren't enough Magic ememies to make the Templar skill worthwhile.
Reaver and Berserker are better for killing enemies quick.

The combination of reaver and templar comes really close to a "spirit warrior". Berserk is just boring for me(not much more then autoattack).I like using talents and dont care if this do less damage when silence actually allows to control enemies.(silence on rogue, and they dont go in stealth)

Templar is a good skill set. I have not tried berserker yet but I liked Template and Reaver is, IMO, the best specialization for a damage dealing warrior.

Silence is a great ability if your party is not able to quickly kill high priority targets such as elite blood mages and assassins.

Yes just because of the sheer amount of Mages and shades you fight in this game

I went Templar on my SnS warrior. Seeing as he wasn't a big damage dealer I felt it was necessary because I HATED mages. I think it was pretty good actually. Silence isn't too bad, Holy Smite is good against demon's and whatnot, on-hit silence isn't too bad, and annulment is GOD.

I mean, if I was a 2hander I probably wouldn't have gone for it, but come on, 50% magic resistance on your tank? You cannot pass that up. I would just sit in blood magic pools and other AoE's just like trololol I'm unkillable.

I wish that I had known that silence works on a lot more enemies than I ever thought. I only really ever used it against magic casters, not talent users =[

Hell yes I took it, my 2h could always use some extra burst aoe, good for unstealthing rogues after you already blew whirlwind. No autoattack on 360 yet and I don't like button mashing, so my entire build was based on cleave and activated abilities. Silence and cleanse I found very useful as well, bye bye mage barrier.

It does become/seem close to the spirit warrior which makes it easier for me to justify using that title while using a "templar" skill tree as I find it hard to get rid of the pro-mage style I liked with my mage hawke.

Yeah Templar anti-magic skills are pretty useful for a sword and board warrior. Although you don't seem to be able to consistently purge or cleanse those Mage invulnerability bubbles that they cast on themselves. Smite + Righteous Smite upgrade just smashes Shades.

berserker (for barrage) + revear is the most fun way to go for a warrior (super speed) unless you are trying out one of the elemental warrior builds posted by some pros here.
