It occurred to me, while watching the Zero Punctuation review of DA2 that you could pretty much sum up the entire conceit of Varric telling Hawke's story to Cassandra as such:

Cassandra:  Please, tell me the truth behind the grandly epic legend of the Champion of Kirkwall, who sought to change the world.
Varric:  Actually, it was pretty much all just an accident, he mainly wanted to mind his own business.  Can I go now?

Since the game is supposed to be Varric's version of events, it occurs to me that it might have been more fun to play whatever version Cassandra had been told?

Probably not. Her version was "You came to the city with the intention of cooperating with Anders to vaporize the chantry and kill the templars. Oh and you already knew about the Primeval Thaig before you went on the expedition."

I agree with Vormaerin. Her intake is Anders was a jerk and blew up the chantry and Varric and the champion should be arrested for aideing for the death of the chantry people. Odd thing is if you side with the templars and kill Anders, Cassandra is like "Oh....I guess I was wrong about the champion. The champion was indeed a hero. Well...You can go." Odd thing is I had two epilouges. First one was she left in hope to find and thank the champion while my second she says the champion is gone just like the grey Warden hero of Ferelden when i sided with the mages.

Frame narrative doesn't have to be deep and complex. In fact, considering the only purpose of a frame narrative is to introduce the real narrative, keeping it simple is the best route.
