Bass. In the hands of a gifted player, it can sound absolutely amazing. Furthermore, there's nothing like a memorable or well-written bassline.

P or J, though?  For all Jaco Pastorius is seen as a low-end god, I must admit I prefer the sound of a Precision: whenever a bass line really catches my attention, there's nearly always a P behind it.  That said, the boingy sound of a good Stingray (which is most of them, happily) comes a close second.

The Stick is an ugly beast but it can sound amazing.  A friend of mine is quite into them but I've never really felt inclined to follow her lead; four strings is still more than enough for my clumsy fingers even after all these years!

The trumpet. Maybe because I've played it for 7 years?

The drums. I've always had a better ability with percussion, and I used the rock band drums to lose about 115 lbs. Feel the burn while you slam some cymbals.

It really isnt pleasant looking is it. :P  I only ever seen Sean Malone and John Myung pull it off to a superb degree.  The sound off it is so unique and amazing though, I would love to witness one of them use it live!  Its so rare to see it used!

One few times John uses it with tracks with Dream Theater

I love listening to a cello. For hours even. There's something so rich and spirit stirring about the sound of it, and yet grounding too.

Trumpet and Cello.

Because pretty much all brass instruments have this passion and personality to them, that is a lot of fun to listen to. As for Cello, it's just my favorite string instrument.
